As dumb as this sounds, I need advice on Fragger

So…I kick plenty of ass as Nader. I love direct hits with that grenade launcher, and the Crotzni is a monster when people are too close. She’s honestly under rated, I can see comp players going nuts with her.

Fragger tho, I can’t get the hang of him. The weapons he has I feel like I miss a lot of shots, particularly the K 121, and the nades I can’t ever seem to get a kill with.

Any tutorials, guides, advice you can offer?

Yeah same here actually. I love his pewpew MG which I find crazy strong but I suck with his nades. Almost never can’t remotely damage a thing whis them.

Needs more practice and timing for the cooking of nades, I suppose.

I’m by no means a good fragger, but tap fire your guns. After 2-3 bullets, let go then click again to retain your accuracy. Make sure to cook your nades, learn the timings so that they blow up as soon as they reach your enemies.

derp, ignore

Not too surprised honestly, granted I’m a bad Fragger myself, but I usually need several matches to start hitting my personal Fragger peak (especially coming from faster Mercs like Nader or worse Sparks).

A few pointers that help me. He is considerably slower so knife out as soon as possible, with other mercs you can easily traverse small distances with a gun in hand Fragger looses too much time. Also because of the movement speed you gotta adjust your dodging patterns, coming from Nader you are propably used to a certain left right rhythm. For Fragger you gotta step a bit more into each direction since he travels shorter distances in the same time (leaving his head pretty much at the same place if you use Nader movement).

For his Weapons:
Nade priming is key. As a general rule count to two and than throw.
You gotta adjust that value depending how far or short you are throwing but for medium distances 2 seems to do the deal. Use the nade like you would use the grenadelauncher outside of landing directs i.e. throw it into position you now people are hiding or coming along.

K121 that gun has seen quite a few direct and indirect nerfs, so it is not what is used to be. However still perfectly servicable IMO. It has a extreme low bloom rate so you can shoot fairly long before things go all over the place (I’m comparing similar amounts of shots here, If you fire through the whole box it will look bad at the end).
Biggest problem with it is that it has a strong vertical recoil so you gotta compensate quite a bit down to stay on target. treat it like a Blishlok with more ammunition and slightly better handling.
If all that doesn’t work feel free to switch to an M4. 90% of Fragger players do that no shame in that.

Cook your grenades.

Find angles where you can bounce grenades off walls.

Don’t jump and fire, it fucks up your spread a lot.

ADS with K-121, the spread is far too terrible otherwise.

learn to jump (preferrably with the m4+unshakeable loadout for more health and accuracy for sniping)

But the most important thing I’ve found out about Fragger is that he isn’t invincible. I used to just overextend alone and die to 3+ things. The great thing about Fragger is his team fight potential with wide spread OHKO nades and large ammo clips letting him shoot immediately upon being revived. Make sure you’re spearheading pushes, not overextending alone.

You just said don’t jump… then learn to jump? Did you mean don’t jump with the K-121?

As for my tips, I wouldn’t really use the K-121 unless you know how to tap fire, if you’re not very good with it always go for the M4A1, which is objectively the most versatile and easiest gun in the game to use.

Always cook grenades, unless you purposely want to destroy a machine or scare people off. A cooked grenade is impossible to dodge unless the player predicts it’s coming, which they won’t unless they know you’re there. They also do way more damage than Naders nades, and for good damn reason. Save them for player conflict as well, leave the EV destruction to Skyhammer and Arty.

As for what you said with Nader, Nader is a low skill floor merc. Spam nades into rooms, get kills. Wait for a scrub to walk up to your corpse, explode. SMG spray all day, not lose any accuracy. While it is definitely possible to play Nader in comp, you will always see a Fragger, due to his sheer power over Nader. Best indication is his speed and health really. Tankier and slower generally means a combat class.

Grenades: Never toss them right away, cook them, remember you can do a lot of indirect damage with them by tossing them into a wall and having it bounce off of it. Dont cook while walking towards the enemy, walk away when cooking to lure them in. Cook for 1-2 seconds for when enemies are very close.

K-121: always be near medics and fire supports, fire in bursts over longer ranges, fire at full auto upclose, use iron sights for longer ranges and bring your mouse down if you need to fire full auto.

M4A1:Good all around, easy to use gun, no real advice for this.

BR-16: Use at close-mid range, use iron sights over longer ranges.

Cook your nades till the second finger on your hand is up. ALWAYS. Don’t wait too long or else it will explode too soon/in your face. When the 2nd finger goes up then it will always explode exactly where you want to throw it.

I don’t know what to say about anything else. Aim for the head? Use the M4 or whatever weapon you want?
