Arty is my favorite merc because I like the presicion of his artillary strikes, but there are times when there is literally no reason to be playing him over skyhammer. I think it would be cool if he and Kira could have some indoor ability that isn’t extremely powerful but could be useful like skyhammers nade. Comment with any ideas please.
Arty/Kira indoor ability
Kira already has katana
Arty can call airstrike from across the map.
unless you want arty range reduced and he gets some indoor ability.
(Arty is dedicated marksmen, Kira is like skyhammer but faster and skyhammer is mini fragger)
Perhaps he could shoot a grenade out instead (longer CD than Nader’s grenade launcher, but not full recharge like his normal strikes) if he’s inside. Kira I’d just give a lazer tazer, zap, only if initially used inside as opposed to putting a lazer down outside and it being dragged over an inside area.

IMO Arty could use some change to his secondary ability. Change ammo packs to special ammo packs that replenish special ammo (aka abilities) on first hit to some mercs:
-17 sec to Skyhammer’s air strike
-A couple nades to Nader
-A 10-15 sec to Fragger/Thunder/Proxy/Fletcher
-Some CD to Rhino and Smoke
And than work as standard ammo pack on 2d hit at same merc. Adjust CD to ammo pack to 15-20 sec and reduce their amount to 2. Practicly he would give additional explosive for another merc instead of using it himself. This would turn Arty to completely different fire support merc without a change to his main ability. Also now there would be much bigger utility to his “extra ammo” and “extra supplies” augments.
IDK what you could do about Kira. Some kind of satelite EMP pulse that would go through roof and eat 10 sec from Laser CD? Honestly it would be interesting if she got machine pistols as her secondary. Glorified Cricket bat Katana is only thing that is different from Arty who has same weaons and similiar ability.
Arty could use some SMG secondaries to kind of make up for his lack of options in closed, tight space maps. SMG’s would also go well with his ammo pack ability.

what if i told you that you dont have to go to tight spaces in the map to win it?
arty already beyond good with his rifle either its those burst rifle or the Dreiss
while its not as good as Timik or M4 in CQC its still pretty good on DinkDinkDink on people head in underground generator room
Indoors skyhammer is kind of like mini fragger so maybe arty could be mini thunder and mildly concuss people by pointing his laser in their face. Each person he cuncussed could add five seconds to his cool down. People he cuncussed could maybe experience the double vision part of a flashbang without the whiteout.
thats even OP than thunder, you just walk in and start laser everyone head and its already better than thunder, more importantly, Arty laser is military grade and can blind people across the map which is what thunder cant do.
in real life the laser designator already blinded some iraqi armies during the invasion, when the nurses treated the wounded they found 10 or so permanently blind from looking at the laser

What you are describing is almost exactly what regular ammo packs do. When you throw them directly at another player their ability cool down is reduced by 15%. This is a little less than the crazy boost you are suggesting.
I mean 15 sec cool down reduction on proxy who has a 20 sec cool down? Players would be spamming mines left and right!

Maybe arty could have a indoor blinding effect that could only work on one enemy at a time and have a ten second cooldown

Well yes, that’s true. But I’m talking about ease of use. It’s always more comfortable to storm enemies at a distance of less than 20 meters with a Hochfir or Tolen, for example.
The Tactical Flashlights in BF3 did the same thing, but you didn’t have to switch out to them - They were attached to some unlockable guns.
Maybe it would work for him to have a flashlight on his gun with a cool down like red eyes ir goggles so when the flashlight is on it would drain the arty strike cool down.
Or just make it like a portable spotter that could spot one enemy per charge (with less cooldown)
I mean it’s a target designator
Maybe Arty’s designator could spot one per charge, Kira could spot small areas per charge (both will have less cooldowns)

This. Arty has good HP and hard-hitting rifles while Kira is just really fast and can swiftly eliminate an unaware target with good aim. They don’t need indoor abilities just because the other Fire Supports have them.

Arty is definitely ok with Focus augment + Drilled burst rifle = best gun shooting fire support merc who’s even better at shooting than Stoker without Focus, and also he is a male merc with 120/400 average decent stats,
but I think kira isn’t quite ok indoors.
Her killing potential depends too much on laser which is the only skill that are meant to kill everyone besides melting EV unlike air strike and artillery, and female merc’s mobility is very limited indoors like narrow path in Undergrounds.
I mean, I’m not saying she must be good at every environment but at least I want her to be less situational than right now, just like everyone wants Rhino to be less situational.
Playing arty indoor/Playing Kira indoor has huge difference because of basic HP stats and skill dependency.
