Artillery

Everything in the game is rather accelerated compared to ET, the only exception seems to be Artillery. Whereas in ET you could quickly peek, mark a spot and retreat, waiting for the Artillery to rain down a few seconds later, Arty has to stand within line of sight and get himself shot while aiming at the spot for a few seconds.

Given that he’s a bit on the weak side right now, can we not change this? I think it would make his playstyle more dynamic, while also providing a small boost to him.

You can already take down the EV so fast it would be bad if Arty could do this.

If it’s delayed a bit, the EV may not be hit by the full blast. If you aim it in front of the EV, they could stop the EV to evade some of the blast. Mind games. :wink: Also air strikes are already impossible to avoid (with the EV), so nothing really changes if a few Skyhammer players switch to Arty instead.

Arty’s airstrike is near instant. It’s pretty much impossible to miss or evade the strike. Skyhammer airstrikes should do reduced damage IMO too. However, regular guns should do more damage to the EV. Make people focus on the EV and waste ammo/time on shooting it rather than a fire and forget 1-2 skyhammer kill on it.

I would prefer this to change. Mark the spot instantly, but then there’s a delay before the Artillery comes down. I think this would be a better fit for the fast paced nature of the game.

Practically everything else can be done quickly while on the move, so this seems like an odd exception (made odder by the fact that he’s not exactly ahead of the power curve right now).
