Art of Brink, levels

Frankly, I thought this deserved it’s own thread. IGN has a new article about “The Art of Brink”. They seem to be talking about Brink quite a lot lately, which is nice, recently there was a great article about the sound.

Anyway, I was blown away by those level pictures. They look so amazing.

AQUARIUM

SECTOWER

AIRPORT TERMINAL

SHIPYARD

COOLING TOWER

So does this man there is only 2 map left (if there are 8)?
We saw terminal and shipyard quite early, cooling tower last E3 and now lately they showed sectower and aquarium. That’s 5 maps, but we have actually also seen Container City and Founder’s Tower (not really seen, but rather heard, I think it was at some convention), which makes 7. This means there is only 1 more map to be revealed?

Edit: I was browsing the Brink image gallery on IGN and found that they also uploaded this:

So the last map is Last Restort (or maybe Canal, but probably Last Resort).

Now we now all the 8 maps.

That was a fascinating article, and I hope the aquarium looks like that in-game!

(Daystar) #3

There’s also Container City. There are 10 maps in total.

(Mustkunstn1k) #4

So there are 8 main missions and 2 what-if missions (that have separate maps)?

Anyway, here is my map count so far:

  1. Aquarium
  2. Security Tower (Sectower)
  3. Airport (Terminal)
  4. Shipyard
  5. Reactor (Cooling tower)
  6. Container City
  7. Founder’s Tower
  8. Last Restort / Canal

I’m pretty sure reactor is a what if map for security. Good article though it great to see so much coverage on IGN.

Isn’t Reactor the what-if mission for Resistance?

I love how the ark is so unique that its a character on it’s own.

(Mustkunstn1k) #8

Yeah, the article says that it’s a what-if. But it’s a multiplayer map nontheless.

cooling tower will probably be my favorite map. it looks so beautiful. i love the color palette very much and the architecture has that modern look i really like.

what i like most is that the maps doesnt look super realistic. thats real design, real art and no copy of the real world. i see so much creativity in all of the screenshots, it inspires the hell out of me.

cant wait to begin mapping for brink.

oh. and im curious if the aquarium map is actually based on my idea, doing an underwater map, that i posted here like a year ago. i doubt it though, cause its so obvious to do something under water when the overall theme is a floating artificial island.

This game has amazing art direction.

What fun it must have been to do all the graffiti decals.

(Schwarzeis) #16

I liked the look of the ‘‘We Eat Cod’’ one

Since they’re going with that… Maybe there is a ‘‘BF NO MORE’’ with two guys walking away from eachother?

(tokamak) #17

Or a two way lane with over the traffic signs sprayed ‘Halo / Goodbye’

What else could we pop in here? :stuck_out_tongue:
