Aren't incapacitated players too lively?

… because they sure don’t look like they are agonizing, performing backspins now and then.

I’m not talking about slight side to side rolling/shifting they normally do, but sudden 180 spins.

It looks like a bug, because what would be the point besides making it harder to finish downed player? Thoughts?

You should have seen them in the past. It was much much worse. Now the spins are a bit more consistent/predictable. I have a feeling SD has an animation system that plays out that doesn’t quite know where the “floor” is on a map and once the animation on death is done playing the body will orientate itself to sync up with the current floor it’s on and the bodies revive/gib hurtbox to ensure that revives or gibs are consistent with where the body ended up. That’s my theory.

It’s definitely not graceful and hopefully at some point in the future it gets cleaned up.

Can someone explain to me why a guy that has been shot in the body/head numerous times just rolls down on the floor to be able to survive another 10 shots?
My problem with ragdoll is that it has a bit of troubles syncing with hitboxes from time to time. I had it happen a couple of times where I saw my ragdoll elevatoring unto an object while a medic came looked at the ground and reved me when I was 10 feet above.

Well the first part is easy to answer. It’s a game and those are the mechanics. Do you also question how a beam from a gun can revive somebody who has been shot 10 times or Defib paddles working differently than they do in real life? Or any number of other inconsistencies with real life :slight_smile:

As for the second part that is a weird desync issue between the kill cam and where your body actually ends up. It’s usually fine for the medic even if your perspective is screwy. Hopefully that too can be fixed up in the future but it tends to only happen near ledges or stairs and doesn’t really hinder actual gameplay making it a fairly low priority fix in my mind.

I don’t know you guys, but when i get shot and wait for the medic to rez me, i just pass my time training my break dance skills. It’s like going to the toilet without your phone. It’s lost time that you never gonna get back.

I’m cool with the breakdancing dead people, but they are a bit tanky sometimes. Trying to finish of a downed Rhino before the medic up his ass can revive him is one hell of a challenge.

(Floross) #7

Rhino is the easiest to finish off due to hitbox size.

Moving about is unavoidable when you break it down on the flo.

i don’t know why, but i’ve been watching a lot of these types of videos recently. I figured it’s related.

not really. Okay it’s related.

@kAndyREW I’ll allow it!
