Area where player walks slowly

Is it possible to make an area where the player walks/runs slower than normal? Just curious.

The only thing I can think of is a target_push with a (very) small value. It only works in one direction at the time though…

Shallow water does a very good job of slowing people down, plus its a good sound clue to someone coming.

To add a little to Sock’s post…

How about making a invisable water shader with a custom sound associated with it, then the player would not hear the spalsh sound - perhaps a small empty wav file.

If it is shallow enough so that they cannot swim in it they should not hear the underwater sounds as well.

You will also need to address the surfaceparm so that it does not splash when shot or when a grenade goes off in it.

I have not tried any of this other than the invisable part, so take it with a grain of salt.
