Are you happy with the concussion grenades and their effect now?

(KayDubz) #1

Seems like the devs made small changes to the concussion grenade, but ignored several of the things the community asked to be changed.

I’d rather see a vid of them first, if you can still see hit markers and health then they’re still shit imo.

I can confirm that the crosshairs, minimap, and health are ALL still visible when blind. As well as movement still being easy.

You can still run away at will despite being fully white-screen blind. The devs seemed to straight up ignore us, and that poll they did was pointless. Most people were not happy with the Thunder changes originally…so why would they think a reduction in fuse time or an increase in blinded time would fix what was wrong with the concussion nades?

@MissMurder and @RazielWarmonic ,

The devs need to know what makes the concussion grenades useless. I shouldn’t be able to blind someone, and them be able to freely run away because they have most of their movement, a minimap, and their crosshairs. Whats worse is that you can concuss someone and still have them easily shoot back and kill you, thanks to its poor effect and Thunder’s huge hitbox.

The flash/concussion grenades need to have hitmarkers, health, and minimap all removed when blinded. No HUD please. And there needs to be some kind of a sensitivity reduction. Right now Thunder is useless to me. He’s a poor man’s boring version of Fragger with worse weapons and abilities.

Concussion grenades need to CONCUSS. They don’t do that.

Thank you.

Agreeing with this and also venting how much BULLSHIT it is you’ll completely GUT a weak character in a damned HOTFIX but even after weeks of him being useless, a poll and patch later you still refuse to fix him. I stopped playing dirty bomb until he was fixed and I guess I am going to miss out on this patch to because quite frankly this is obscene and I won’t be apart of it.

Will SD care? Nope of course not. Just like every other company alive. Have fun guys, call me when they’ve fixed there shit.

Also for the record, it’s not because Thunder is all I can play, its’ a moral thing. To break something so completely in A HOTFIX for a character who was weak and then refuse to fix him for WEEKS and then, even after all that do next to nothing to help him out? No, that is NOT OKAY under any circumstance and i simply refuse to support there game rather it be through money or player numbers until they fix there mistake.

Shame too because i like this event and I love the buff to the Grand on red-eye something I’ve wanted for a long time. But oh well  I stand by my choices.

The Thunder situation wasn’t as bad as the Phantom situation, so at least there’s that.

And I thought it was a 99% move speed reduction? That’s fucking CRAZY, so how can people run away anymore?

Honestly, don’t touch mouse sens. Remove my HUD and minimap, I’m ok with that, just leave in hitsounds and then I’ll be happy.

(Mr-Penguin) #6

Thunder is still the same as always- subpar.

Im thinking you need a direct hit for move speed reduction to matter much. Im not getting much affected by conc nades with regard to movement. I can still run away rather easily while blind.

(SaulWolfden) #8

Well I voted so-so merely because it IS better than it was, but that’s hardly saying anything. I mean that at least got me to find Thunder somewhat playable (not effective) and I found some success with his concussion, but it definitely feels too weak. I no longer completely detest playing as him at least now which is why I voted so-so.

(Reddeadcap) #9

@Watsyurdeal Not a video, but here’s a screenshot, in 5 seconds, this is the distance traveled strafing as Sawbonez while concussed (grenade right under my feet) and the distance traveled while not concussed, those 5 seconds when I regained my vision.

Still think some sort of mouse control loss should be added and blinding replaced since it’s completely inconsistant and the whole seeing health while blind isn’t great.

(Tanker_Ray) #10

Like I said in my Thunder Thread,

[/Nothing is going to change until he himself gets a buff.

Like @SaulWolfden said, he is definitely useful than no-hope moments he had after December 1st hotfix.

But his firepower to clear up the situation while enemies are concussed, is way too low.

Very absurd they didn’t even touched MK.46’s bullet spread.

Timik is becoming M4 clone, so quite alright, and burst rifles are crazy nowadays, so with Timik and Stark, you can at least fulfil your firepower if not using MK.46.

But eventhough how Timik and Stark is going to be good, those two are used by many other mercs, which means Thunder’s firepower = Those who use Timik & Stark.

No matter how good concussion is going to be,

Thunder himself is just same as before.

160HP which is placed in the middle of Fire Support and Rhino(±40HP) makes him so fragile and coward with his hitbox. So that only time Thunder is brave, is when his concussionade goes successful. What a sneaky bastxrd is this.

if SD only buffs concussionade to balance him, all Thunder users and others who won’t going to play Thunder will complain forever.

(UnicLunatic) #11

Thunder is awfull, I barely can kill someone when I play him because of his uge hitbox, shitty MK46 and almost useless conc grenade.

MK46 needs a buff in damage/ammo and a nerfed spread. DPS means almost nothing, nobody lands each shots, particulary with a weapon as accurate as this one…

Conc grenade needs in my opinion a fuse, same timing as fragger’s one, and a concussion effect that really affects the target, like before the fix. If someone is concussed, he shouldn’t be able to fight back. When you take a fragger nade you can’t fight back. When you take a thunder nade, you almost always can fight back, and I have to try kill you with a shitty weapon on top of that!. Not ok. You should be an easy target.

(BananaSlug) #12

for me only increase granade radius and it would be cool if those granades will destroy deployables

(CCP115) #13

I was playing a match the other day with a level 30 who used the MK46.

That gun is absolutely killer in the right hands, don’t buff it, I’m telling you. He was top scoring cleanly.

Buff Thunder’s movespeed, I can agree on that part.

(NightingaleZ0) #14

Keep it simple

  1. Stun Grenade hurts the Thunder player more so than the enemies. It will blind you if you see the grenade no matter how far away it is. For enemies they have to be close and see the grenade to have the same effect. Why is this handicap a thing? They should have the same effect for the Thunder player as well.
  2. The grenade is so easy to avoid. Been blinded means you still can see your own deployables and many other hints to maneuver out of the danger zone. I think it should blind the whole screen for the victim so they cannot see anything but white flash. This will leave players to reconstruct a mental image of the location and use that as a way to escape.

(Naonna) #15

My solution: give thunder 2 nades to throw in rapid succession or use independently similar to Fragger pre-nerf. (It would differentiate them. Also, an opponent can’t look away from 2 at once.) Also, boost the blind-time by another second or so to compensate for thunder’s lack of speed. - A self-immunity to the blinding effect wouldn’t hurt either. We don’t see Fraggers scared to throw nades.

(Reddeadcap) #16

Really think SD should just bring the mouse sensitivity loss but keep the visual and audio distortion that gets significantly worse the closer one would be to the center of the blast, as would mouse sensitivity but remove the blinding effect as that is not only inconsistent but also that people blinded are still capable of seeing health bars of people they’ve injured.
