So all in all, this event is a fuck you to free2play people who asked for higher drop rates
Are you happy with the 1% chance of an event skin in the regular event cases?
Looks like it’s working.
There are better ways to make money. They could always give people more incentives to purchase cash items by making the cash items more enticing (event price reductions, increasing the event card %, not sure if they included cycles in credit boosters, etc.), even outside of event patches.
You can’t buy cycles or credits with money (aside from credit booster but they are what they are so yeah…) so there’s no money making machine in Suspect Equipment Cases.
Anddd… 5€/$ - 3.5€/$ per case for 10% chance to get a special loadout card… yyyeeaaahhh… we’ve been discussing about that enough.
What’s the point of special edition if there’s nothing special about them?

Exactly this. I bought the Aimee bundle - literally a blind purchase for the obsidian since we have no idea what it’ll be like, and I had more than enough credits for Aimee. I bought the trinket because it’s neat and the cycle bonus is a nice idea. I’m happy buying stuff - but they seem to be so adamant that their loadout pricing/approach is the right way to do it. Perhaps it is, but I really don’t think so. £15 for 5 random loadouts, 80% chance of being silvers (ugh), and then one random card that could be awful, or for a merc you don’t like? As I always say, too many layers of RNG. At least the £10ish for Aimee and the obsidian comes with the guarantee that the merc it drops for will be the community favourite - I’m OK with that!
The 1% chance is, as others have said, much better - but not perfect. The cards are limited by the fact the event is a limited time. In a few months from now people will be seeing these cards and asking what they are without a doubt, they’re just too rare. Not to mention the two containment war loadouts I have sitting there that never get used because they’re shit.
Still, steps in the right direction - which is great to see.

How are they going to make cosmetics more enticing?
With time even if you gave everyone a card there will be less people that have them due to the revolving door that is Free to Play, even the Phoenix obsidian will get more “special” over time. Provided that they do not release the cards again.
Id be okay if the damn case dropped at the end of match but they dont!! we still get equipement cases, and you have to buy the case for an equivalent of 3500 credit to have the 1% chance of getting a loadout. Sorry but this is bullshit.
So? Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t make special edition cards hard. It’s an insentive to play more.
Can you stop being such a sheep, jesus christ[/quote]
Can you stop being such a douche, FFS
Or buy the 100% cases, which makes them a whole lot less “special” and actually very easy.

Whatever. I’m done arguing since I’m clearly not going to win.
I see your point and cards should have some value if trading is ever a thing but it seems wrong, to me, that events should only benefit the lucky or the rich. This clearly is a credit sink event and due to the amount of people that suggest they have massive amounts of credits then it’s clearly an event that benefits them, I can agree with that. It’s not a long term solution but it’s something.
Thing is that quite a number of people complained during the CW event that 0.3 cases were horrible, during the WtD event they did it again (somewhat understandable, kind of do to the small time frames it was created in) and people complained about the rates. Then this event where they do the same thing but “disguise” it. From what I hear is that the event cases do not drop normally as well.
I’m going to hold my full opinion of this event until it is over and experienced it for myself and I do hope that the community puts together information and compares it to the other events to see if the communities opinions were taken into consideration.
The amount of RNG… I don’t know if you have noticed that chances of getting a good/ decent loadout card for merc(s) you would like to get a special loadout card are slim.
It’s probably more likely for us to get hit by a car and lightning at the same time.

Your’e not good at math are you?
Not worth it. But at least we have the booster. That’s what my Cycles are going on.

Amount of getting that special edition loadout you wanted: about 1 in 1000 cases.
You are 50 times more likely to get shanked or raped than to get that loadout you really like.
