Ahhh Nice one, Cheers

Almost certainly a NO for new maps unfortunately but as I thoughtfully stroke my goatee, more customization packs like the pre-order content seems like a strong possibility.

I’m not so sure about that. I don’t think there was anything that hasn’t been released yet and there’s been no mention of new work on anything like that.
Customization packs take a fair amount of time to piece together and still cost money that Bethesda is holding. And I’d put my money on Bethesda focussing on Skyrim and Rage from this point on.
If we’re lucky there’ll be some leftover scraps thrown this way.

Lets hope we get something, in a perfect world I’d love to get more maps and hell, more everything! But anything will do now

So you’re saying that as far as any kind of new content goes… it’s over. Don’t expect anymore DLC. I suppose we should be grateful for what we have.

Don’t give up hope. I’m just guessing and going on the meagre scraps of information we’ve had.
It’d be great if someone official (hint hint) would post about any future plans, but as far as I’ve been able to gather the situation is as follows:
SD are doing weapon tweaks.
Bethesda holds the purse strings and anything more than weapon tweaks costs a lot of money.

Now Bethesda may surprise me and continue to support Brink for as long as it’s required to fix it up and start uncovering all it’s hidden potential, but a betting man would look at Bethesda’s ‘Horse armour DLC’ past and calculate that they’ve grabbed the easy cash and are now doing a runner.

If we’re lucky Brink was profitable enough to convince Beth to risk money on a Brink 2 and hopefully SD will have learnt from some of their mistakes and will turn out an improved product, but that’s minimum a year away if it happens at all.

To sum up: I’m guessing, but I don’t see much on the horizon.

Not out of the realm of possibility. I remember with Epic games released Gears of War. They released 2 maps for free through Discovery Channel sponsor and then it was a while before they released a paid DLC of four maps and added one game mode called Annex. Gears of War only had four multiplayer modes, Warzone, Execution, Assassination, and the game mode they added with the final map pack called Annex. There was only the shipped maps and 6 DLC maps. In the meantime, they put most of their efforts into Gears 2. In Gears 2 it was a year after it had been released that they changed the star rank system to an Exp system with multiple level ranks. They did 6 title updates for Gears 2 to make it better in the PvP.

Now Brink, I could see a similar thing. Release one final map pack of four maps and maybe some more unlockable content in terms of Badges or Insignia, then its onto whatever project is next for Splash Damage. Maybe it won’t even be Brink. Either way, things here tend to move at a snails pace.

SD could use Brink for beginning map designers… to make sure they don’t mess up on the currently producing title.

I think we will see a Brink2 but until then I’m satisfied with what we got, a complete and functional game that is fun to play. That is really all that matters to me.
