Is there a sample map for Quake 3 with bumpmapping that I can download?
I want to convert all my textures and have normal maps, etc for them all, but I don’t know if it’s worth it yet. Any samples online?
Also, is it “Live” like, when you shoot a rocket, do the dynamic lights affect the bumpmaps?
umm, this is how I understand it…
The bumpmapping is simply a very high quality lightmap, so your
moving dlights will illuminate your surfaces, but the orientation of
the bump mapping will not change, as it is fixed in the lightmap at
compile time.

Then I guess the best/only usage for me would be if I ever use tiles, bricks, stones, or rocky terrain.
