Topic name. I put at least 15 hours into my guy before losing him. I’d like to see if I could somehow get him back or make a new save that had the level and whatnot.
Are the people who lost their characters to the recent bug able to get them back?

No way to be sure, it depends on the issue itself and fix they implement.
If the issue causing this resets your profile information clientside…then it’d seem that the character is gone for good. If its just circumventing the profile info and considering the file a new game, then there may be a way to recover the lost info from the profile.
Nothing is certain as of yet.

A mod someonewhere mentioned that crashing before selecting your character corrupts the file on Steam Cloud, so I assume you are not able to recover it. =/
