Are the founders packs going to be available after game release?

First off, dirty bomb looks amazing.

I really enjoyed Brink, despite some flaws, I loved the game… i will never play another FPS without wanting to bounce around Mirror’s Edge style.

i’m also a big fan of “bonus” content, i.e. aesthetic armours, dlc and other things that expand the base game in an aesthetic way.

i don’t have the money to throw at the biggest founders pack at the moment, and I won’t be able to play this game unless it’ll play natively on steam.

When I get the money, and if it supports Linux (or, if it’s really good I may just dual-boot into windows for it, W7 is already installed, I just rarely use it) I would buy the top-tier founder pack but i don’t understand it much…

Will it still be available after the games full release for me to buy?
i know that missing those exclusive character/weapon skins will bug me if I play.

(yes, I like this stuff, a lot… I’m not a GREAT fps player, but I do always enjoy the “collecting” in games, i.e. Halo 4, I’m not great but I work on armour and things, it’s just what I enjoy most in a game… I know others must too, otherwise why would it be put in the game?)

EDIT
just checked, I didn’t mean the founders pack, just the legendary pack, with a founders tag etc.
Not sure how all of these differ, but I’m sure people who have seen it will understand what I’m talking about.

Open beta is for everyone so try it out then, I would be 99% sure the packs will still be available at this time.

Thanks for the post! The Founder’s Packs we’ve got on the site will not be available after launch - they’re meant as a way for fans to help shape and support the game during development, and show off that they did so via Founder’s Tags, Gun Tags, and so on after launch.

Well thanks a lot SD!
How inconsiderate of you to take my money earlier!

I’m hoping that when it hits beta (or if any alpha members are Linux users), maybe somebody can figure out if it’s wine compatable or something.

I think that I’ll grab it as soon as I can, then if it doesn’t work in Linux I’ll just go into windows like I do for LoL, Guild Wars or any other games.

It’s not like Windows is THAT bad with games.

linux has been shown to run faster with a few games and my linux distro will at least have space for me to install it.

I really appreciate that we get an official response so soon, SD has always shown consideration for the people who play the game and I think that deserves support from us anyway, unlike some other AAA game publishers!

Why shan’t you emphasize it a bit more on the DB site? It is the first time I see/noticed that info.

Why should they? Or do people really buy alpha/beta access after the game got released? (that’s why people buy the packages in the first place right? or do they buy it for a cool badge?) And founder tag and founders merc basically says enough. It means that you supported the game before it got released, no need for it if the game got released.

And if you read the frequently asked questions you can guess that the founders packs won’t be available after the release.

The only way to get the Founder’s Mercs is via the Founder’s Packages and will be never available by other means.

Why natively on Steam? Don’t get me wrong I like my games in one place too but worst case you just add it to Steam and you get the overlay.

The name “Founders Pack” kind of gives it away that it won’t be available after launch if you ask me.

It’s the equivalent to a pre-order pack, as Ruben0s said, you don’t pre-order after release.
