Are the flood gates officially open?

(PixelTwitch) #1

Just noticed that on the Facebook page there was a lot more people asking if anyone wanted keys because they got some compared to people asking for keys…

I am actually feeling really concerned right now… I thought there was no way you would open up to such a large number of people without having at least the core systems in place and the customisation up and running… The reason I am concerned is because it seemed in my mind (and I assume most people here on the forums minds) it would be a no brainer given the current issue with retention and to be quite frank, huge lack of content…

Unless… We are wrong… Could this be “it” now?
Just polish up and add a bit of customisation and we are done?

Well, with a few other “closed betas” I took part in over the last few years, it’s usually only a map or two and lots of bugs. Battlefield 3/4, Hawken, Next Car Game, etc etc. All of those betas were/are just one or two levels and limited content. Still a ton of fun to play. I think the PC gaming public understands what a closed beta is all about.

I think that it’s not a good idea to open the access now, with limited pool of maps, maps which need a rework and a work to do on movements (long jump ?)
I would have preferred a more polished game for this kind of action. And with the NDA, I will not be able to defend it on others forums…

Yeah, that’s my opinion too. The game isn’t ready yet
So many new players means the NDA is pretty dead, not to mention that many of them will leave the game because they’ll get wrecked by “old” players.
I think we need to restrict some servers to level 10+ players or something.

(Bangtastic) #5

hmm actually this isnt the first time keys were given out -.- I bet without cc guys there are at least 500 registerd closed alpha/beta players, inclusive cc guys there are 1000+. In a cc test they aimed for 6000 but only reached 500-600 players.

Couple of hundred players doesnt rly matter. You act like its the start of open beta xD

(apaKa) #6

If you can’t keep 30 active players you won’t be able to keep 200 of them

(tangoliber) #7

Never seen an alpha or beta where the fans thought it was ready for the next stage. Development can’t drag on forever…eventually they need to turn a profit.

This release of beta key is more visible and accessible than the CC thing.

(malarky) #9

This is a stress test, we’re not opening the flood gates. We have more features and improvements to ship before that happens.

(apaKa) #10

It’s not really a stress test if they have permanent access, is it?

(BrightIs) #11

They are not VIPs, so they will only have access to that which SD allows them access to, such as certain maps on the public servers.

(PixelTwitch) #12

Yea but all you need to be a “vip” is ask for access to these forums right?

(Rex) #13

That’s exactly what I thought.

Nope you can’t, it’s just the VIP servers can be visited by all players in the beta now (as the topic got moved in the general discussion).

I have offered a lot of money for VIP (more then the money it cost most people) but they will not take my money…

(Mustang) #15

No, this forum is for anyone that participates in the beta, VIP’s have their own super secret forum.

The VIP servers were originally for VIP’s only, but since they removed the match servers we started using them for drafts as well, now it seems everyone that was in beta before the latest invite wave has been given the VIP server password, so I just don’t have a clue anymore.

(Snotling) #16

I’m fine with this new wave of players since we had some 40 servers running full or quite the same yesterday night. It’ll bring some action, even if it is only for a few days, and the game needed it!

(k0k0nat) #17

the current wave of testers as far better then the “_cc” guys.
Polite and it doesn’t feel like they are all 14 yrs old.

I even got revived today \o/

The forum situation is a bit confusing - let me try to clarify:

[ul]
[li]
[/li][li] These forums are being used temporarily by the original Closed Alpha and initial Closed Beta players while Nexon’s new, permanent forums are being set up.
[/li][li] There’s also a separate, temporary forum for stress test feedback over where the original Nexon DB forums used to be. That forum is being used by those who were invited in the past couple of days (this is a logistics issue more than anything since we don’t have a means to grant automatic access to these forums)
[/li][li] Finally, there’s a private forum for Inner Circle members (those with Contributor/VIP Founder packs)
[/li][/ul]
The VIP servers running all maps are currently open to all of the original Closed Alpha/Beta members.

(AsKo_) #19

dont make the fault and split up the community by making tons of different forums.
you need to get everybody on board.

  • you already knew these forums were horrible and nobody of the people here used them and everybody got pretty mad so why do you make the same mistake again? exactly the same will happen with the new guys and girls.
i just dont get this logic and why youre doing it over and over again

I would buy a founders pack if they were still available… I simply could not afford at the time…
Seems strange to split the community based on who had a couple of hundred quid in the bank to be honest. Even more so to close them off from VIEW from everyone else…

Not going to lie… This leaves me (and likely many others) wondering if we are wasting our time posting on the forums because for all we know all the stuff is decided by the people in them forums.

Hmmm… Strange setup you have here lol.
