ok i have a big long brush which is part of a wall

and the brush is teh size of a gate but how do i cut a bit into the brush to add the gate texture and then alsohave it so it is explodable

is this posible :???: :???: :???:
cause if it is i would be so so so thank u if u could help.

I need this as i am trying to map a couple of maps that r based on my local history in Ireland the first one i am working at right now and it is the seige of Derry (i know it didn’t happen in ww2 but b4 but i will come up with some excuse)

When i get more of it done i will post some screenshots

Is there a knife tool in radiant?

If not, you are better off removing a section of the wall where you want the arch and remodelling it into it. No idea about the exploding part though mate

Deleting the brush and making the arch out of brushwork.

ok i dont think there is a knife tool.

shame as this is going to be alot more work than i was hoping but i’ll do it anyway

the exploding part i think i can do i think i read a tutorial somewhere

Making an arch is quite easy, you just have to make brushes in the shape of a gate:

Then leave out a rectangle in your wall, the size of these gate, and place it in. :slight_smile:

To make the brushes like this, make a square and while its selected press “V”. Now you can drag around the vertices (green dots) to the shape you like.
But remember to have “snap to grid” on, and try snapping your brushes to the grid after changing them (Ctrl + G)
Also, make them detail (Ctrl + M) when you’re done.

about the exploding part, if you want it explodable by gun/nades etc, just select it (all the parts that should explode) and rightclick IN the selection on the 2D screen, and select “func -> func_explosive” Pressing N after this will give you some options for changes but i dont think it is needed.

What you need is making the brushes a func_explosive, give it a scriptname, and write a short script like this for your map:

		wait 150
		constructible_class 3 //3 = dynamite, 2 = satchel

	}
}

And plz try to use the search (in case it works again) for these topics, because there are lots of explanations on the forum already.

@ Flippy: Don’t use vertex-editing on rectangular bruhes… this calls for unnecessary trouble. Hit E instead and use edge-editing. And when you do that, freeze the 2 dimensions you do not need. For example when you want to edit up and down, freeze X and Y (the Scale-X and Scale-Y buttons).
OR just clip the part of the brush away that you don’t need.
