I thought it was running right past downed friendlies straight into enemy gunfire. That’s what half the pub Auras do anyways.
Yeah that happens quite often indeed (I’ve even seen them run into enemy gunfire with their cricket bat). Eventually the only use for them is as decoys while I’m reviving my teammates with Sawbonez…

I honestly don’t know what they’re thinking when they do that.
I can’t say for sure what they’re thinking, but I can tell you that newbs that play the tutorial are presented with a Merc who runs fast and carries a shotgun, and something something about healing stations and defibrillators on dummies. Those who don’t are presented with a Merc who runs fast and carries a shotgun, and what’s this circular icon stuff about “Healing Station” and “Defibrillators”?

Both of these leave new players with the perception that Aura is a fast-attack class, not a medic.

To be fair, the revive hitboxes do not reflect what the models show.

That wouldn’t surprise me. But in my experience most people miss their revives because they are going off of the models animation as opposed to using their crosshair. From many positions the crosshair will be just off the body even though the animation looks like it is in the right spot. I had that problem at first and almost everyone who has ever told me they missed revives and I mentioned to them to always use the crosshair and not pay attention to the model animation has said they completely stopped missing revives afterwards. Funny what our brains will do in that situation

I honestly can’t remember the last time I missed a revive on a player that wasn’t sliding (caused by packet loss) that didn’t get soaked up by a teammate walking through or a downed body eating it as a gib.
