I backed up my game.save file with my character data in order to create a new one to see if my old one was corrupted and a source of crashes. It wasn’t, as the game still CTDs often (especially during character customization and loading into MP matches).
However, I can’t seem to get my character back. Everytime I replace it, it just has me make a new one. Any suggestions?
The easiest method is simply disable Steam’s Cloud, restore the ‘game.save’, and after testing the restore you can then re-enable Steam’s Cloud.
Found out how from the STEAM forums. You can disable steam cloud by right clicking brink in your steam browser, clicking updates, and then unchecking the box at the bottom. Then copy your back up file into the directory where game.save normally goes, launch the game, and play. You can then enable steam cloud.
