Anything for Brink owners?

(graybluePaladin) #1

Is Splash Damage planning anything for people who purchased Brink a few years back? That game launched in such a mess and was abandoned by Splash Damage shortly after release. So buyers were left with a broken game that bombed and we couldn’t get a refund for it because “lol f pc users”

Yes Brink came out a few years back, but I doubt I speak for myself here when I say that I feel ripped off, it was like putting £30 down the drain.

So any chances of Brink owners getting a special loadout card or something? or some form of recognition…

Loving Dirty Bomb so far btw.

I THINK… I …SAW… BRINK… ON…STEAM SALES…YESTERDAY(or day before yesterday) !

OT: I dont think thats gona happen, but it does…Thats gona make a lot of people happy (and unhappy though) !

Yeah while we’re at it can I get something for playing Maplestory and spending hundreds of $$ on NX almost 9 years ago? (Jk please don’t murder me)

Normally I wouldn’t ask for such a thing, but Brink bombed hard and was ditched rather quickly by the devs leaving buyers with a buggy mess with a dead player base. I think some sort of recognition is in order.

All Brink players have been awarded free Skyhammer and Aura mercs! Check your accounts now!

no why would there be, do et and quake wars players get something as well

Brink is not published or controlled by Splash Damage. Do you seriously expect to be entitled because you bought a game published by a competing company? Why would you even ask?
It would be more sense to ask these questions over at the Bethesda forums, and ask forDoom 4 or Fallout 4 for free, because you bought Brink.
Of course there’s the Founders thing, but if you were such a fan of Brink, obviously you would have known about it. After all, DB has been in development and announced for over 3 years.

Yeah sorry you are entitled to nothing. It’s not like Bethesda/splashdamage grossly lied about the game you would get (unlike quite a few AAA titels these days).
Brink is what it is and it is working.
Not their fault that the gaming community back then wheren’t into the gameplay and expected large, linear, cutscene filled singleplayer campaigns. But the game runs, you can still buy it on steam (where it is quite often on sale). The game still looks surprisingly good, textures are a bit lowres and the lighning is static but the art direction and animations still hold up. You can play the “singleplayer” campaign just fine or do the challenges. And if I’m not mistaken it does have a dedicated server so you could even hook one up and play with your friends (unlike modern always online games that are complete void as soon as the login server goes out).

So the only thing that is holding you back from getting your money’s worth out of brink is yourself and your shitty friends that never liked the game in the first place  .

That said if Nexon/SD should decide that it would be fun to honor the dark past by releasing some Brink exclusive loadoutcards (weaponskins that are similar to the resistance for example) I wouldn’t say no ^^.

I liked brink quite good, I believe i got to a high level but then all of the sudden the players didn’t come… from 120 players to just 10 in a week. I kept playing with the same lads for a while… but then they went off aswel. Then I did so aswel.

Sad thing was, this was on PS3…

I flat out love Brink.
On their list of upcoming add-ons to Dirty Bomb it says they plan to add in Weapon Keychains, and it would be cool if they added in a tag of each of their other games like wet, doom, brink etc and gave them out to owners of the games

I don’t feel like I am entitled to get anything but I like the idea of giving returning players something as kind of a nod for the previous support. I’ve always liked it when companies did things like this in other games.

(Ceres) #12

Lol, that’s like me asking for something because I played all the games they abandoned ( ET, ET:QW, and Brink.)

(Eddie) #13

Brink is an entirely different game… why would they give you stuff for Dirty bomb because u bought Brink…

(RuleofBooKz) #14

brink MP was terrible and you should feel terrible if u liked it

(Dark_Neuron) #15

How about we phrase it differently? Instead of phrasing it as: “We bought Brink, we are entitled to compensation”, we phrase it as: “Will those loyal SD fans that bought Brink, get a token skin or something, to show that?”

I get the feeling that the OP could be the OP from this thread.
