Anyone interested in a play of the week/month type thing for Dirty Bomb?

Would anyone be interested in a play of the week thread for Dirty Bomb? Back in 2009-2011 me and my ex-girlfriend used to run a gaming community for Xbox in New Zealand and we did this.

We basically used to just start a thread on the forums so people could upload their videos to youtube and link them in the thread, then at the end of the week (or 2 weeks, or a month, or whatever) we’d start a poll and let the community pick the winner. We used to get Xbox live codes and stuff given to us all the time from Microsoft and we’d used those for prizes etc.

Wonder if the guys at SD would do the same thing, perhaps giving weapon kits or elite cases and things of that nature away? Perhaps even a trinket could be made for such a thing, I dunno. Just an idea. We used to have a gold badge we gave people on the forums for winning it once but if they won it 5 times we gave them a diamond badge. Was thinking something similar could be done with a gold/cobalt trinket or something.

I like this idea a lot. I enjoy watching fancy plays. Might even see if I can make one myself, for once, if this happens!

You might want to edit the title a bit. You made it sounds like the same thing that Overwatch has so I went with No and I don’t think anyone wants to read or skim dat wall o text.

I know this was attempted many times on reddit and every time the person who did it fell flat on their face, it was genuinely awful. I trust you, Dox, however, to do a fantastic job, and I look forward to it.

Doesn’t Youtube have the ability to allow another YT user to take clips from their video or have clips submitted from videos and easily edit together their own full video from those clips? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen exactly that and it would be pretty easy for a single person to do assuming they got consistent good clip submissions and everything was being posted on YT.

As long as they’re not only the triest of the hardest of clips. Snippets of Inadequacy needs to be a alongside-running series with that moment-of-glory style thing you’re planning :smiley:
