Hi, sorry for stupid question. Some time back l was using gmax and 3ds max, learning a lot. Now still not have pc. Do you know some good free modeling application for et. What are you using for 3d? Thanks

blender is a good 3d tool. Can be a bit tricky to learn though

some good tutorials can be found here www.katsbits.com

Carmage, thanks l tried all modelers l found. Blender is for me hardest. And if l am in Blender, in edge mode dividing polygon on cube,(knife tool)it also dividing up and down polygon- gmax and 3ds max not doing it. Cant make good lowpoly models in blender. Otherwise blender is professional application

You need to select individual edges (2 at a time otherwise is selects the face as you’ve found) and cut them that way.

i m using milkshape3d (for making the models) +lightray3d (for exporting into mdc and such stuff)

lithunwrap (for good uv-maps) + q3ase (for good shaders - works with md3 models)

and the tool of C

milkshape is in fact the best i think…and lithunwrap for skinning

I think Blender 3D is one of the better free programs (maybe even the best) out there. It has solid support for md3 (including animations) and has some excellent UV mapping stuff and a lot of other stuff. Its what I use for EastFront and it works perfectly.
