Anyone else think the DE .50 is a really bad pistol?

The Crotzni and SMG-9 are still better picks for longer ranged combat than the Blishlok, just for the record.

Anyway the point is that the pistols should be used as backup weapons, and shouldn’t be equal in strength/consistency in comparison to the primaries. The DPS on the sidearms is fine the way it is - the only real issue is that some of them are far too inaccurate (Caulden, S&W, Simeon).

You’d be surprised at how much the hipfire reticles are lying to you. The recoil on the guns, in practice, are a lot tighter than what you see from hipfire.

Just try a couple of games with having only a dot be your hipfire sight. You’d be surprised at how badly this game is lying to you.

I feel like I never hit a thing with the DE. But my stats say I hit over 50% of my shots with it. It’s extremely confusing to me and I have no clue what choice poll choice I should make. I am paralyzed due to my personal feelings not lining up with actual performance!! So I might hate it but deep down I might love it?

Your high accuracy might be due to you only whipping out your sidearm to gib a target on the ground - easy targets that don’t move. I know whenever I use my CW Skyhammer with M4 and DE.50 I almost never use the DE.50 on actual live enemies, since the M4 can reload so fast that it’s better to just reload, plus I never run out ammo with the M4 (since it’s a Skyhammer) so I never need to fall back on the sidearm.

Idk, that’s just me.

The hipfire markers show you the max radius of where you bullets might go - but most likely the bullets will be on the inside of the circle rather than on the edges. The game isn’t ‘lying’, you’re just misinterpreting what the markers are actually telling you.

It’s only magnum pistol i like. Idk it’s just easier to aim with it. There are a lot of Rhinos on pubs these days… DE is an awesome against them.

2/3 Proxy load outs with DE also have Cricked bat, so teking melee to run at max speed makes no sence. Third load out is Remburg with quick draw augment which means you can do a lot of damage in very short period of time.

It is a good back up for Fragger’s K51 power gunner, you know, K-121 reload even with Drilled augment is still long, but DE with this augment is a decent trump.

Same for Red eye. 2/3 DE load outs have Drilled augment. In P52 elite sniper DE is a good close range option.

For Skyhammer and Stoker it has some usefull load outs, but apart from Red eye and Fragger ability to supply yourself with ammo eliminates situations where you ran out of ammo and forced to use secondary.

For Rhino it is useless cause his shotgun is a better secondary. For Phantom it is useless cause it is paired with knife in all 3 load outs.

I’ve been playing with pistols recently and found S&W is great, and I can kill people even at range. M9 and Selbstadt are also useful because you can keep popping bullets at a high rate, and lots of bullets, so I can get kills easy. All other pistols i struggle to do anything at all with, but I do find the DE the worst.

Oh I use it all the time on Fragger on live people. And I rarely ever gib with a pistol on ay merc since I usually knife and if I am pressed for time I shoot them with a primary. Only if the primary is out of ammo and I need to gib fast and at range do I switch to a pistol. But it’s so unreliable I rarely even do that.

I think a lot of my hatred stems from how big the model is and how much of the screen it takes up while firing. I throws me off more than the other guns. Normally stuff like that doesn’t bother me but the DE does.

I think the devolopers nerf the Desert Eagle before releasing in open beta. The damage power of a desert eagle can be seen as “hand canon” same as shotgun. So I think they nerf it so keep the secondary weapons in balance in gameplay. Correct me if I’m wrong.
