I think it’s along side with the FPS jitters and freeze frames, but my mouse keeps spazzing out in game as well. Every time I go through one of those low FPS moments, when it comes clean my mouse starts turning itself left or right for a good 60-70 degrees. It seems to be a consistent arc and the distance is always about the same which is why it makes no sense to me - It isn’t just a random spaz out - It seems to be a set motion?
Anyone else having mouse problems since the last update?
Out of curiosity what mouse? Cause my Razer Mamba did that in Titanfall
Razer Abyssus. I don’t think its my mouse though, it isn’t happening on Paladins, Overwatch or Quake.
It’s only been happening since the last update, which is what caused me to get these random freezes and fps stutters.
Yea I know, it sound similar to what I had, I literally tried everything and nothing seemed to work.
My suggestion, try a different mouse real quick, even if it’s shitty to see if it occurs.
If it’s plugged into your USB 3.0 ports and you have some USB 2.0 ports (common with motherboards made in the last couple of years) switch your mouse over to the 2.0 ports. If it’s the other way around, try that. USB controllers tend to be very CPU reliant and they can fail in odd ways (had it happen recently).
Fair point. Never considered that. It is plugged into a 3.0 port though so worth a shot hey.
Despite USB 3.0 being around for a while I still don’t trust it. I’ve had some issues with it with some devices. Also, USB 3.0 doesn’t allow for as many devices to be connected as you would expect. I had to buy a USB 2.0 card recently to fix some issues when I hit the limit pretty easily not long ago. You might try unplugging things like USB wireless controller adapters and other devices as well to try and fix your mouse. This article explains a lot of it.
Make sure you dust the laser on the mouse to make sure there is nothing blocking the sensor
Yeah USB 3.0 Ports have been janky as all hell on the last few mobos I had (not as bad as the ones included on the cases I have owned though) they never seem to work right, my usb 3.0 external harddrive totally rejects 3.0 ports but works fine on 2.0 xD
I have a similar issue as @Dox but with my keyboard, had it with my old one too. Sometimes after spawning after map load my character will either keep strafing left like I am holding down ‘A’ or will jump or crouch endlessly… I have to press down on almost all the keys at the same time to get it to cancel (practically facedesking it)…not sure why it happens but its also quite rare.
That may be because up until some point Intel chipsets didn’t have native USB 3.0 support, meaning all USB 3.0 were provided via an external controller, which may be a cause for a whole range of problems. Then there was that Haswell USB3.0 sleep bug - I was buying my current PC around that time and I waited a few weeks for a mobo with a new revision chipset.
I have no idea how the situation looks on the AMD side, but I’m guessing it may be worse because their release schedule is a bit shaky.
That’s interesting because I get that as well. I never even thought about it when this mouse problem started occuring though because that keyboard thing is pretty rare (maybe 15-20 times total since I started playing a year ago) but it’s the same thing. Often I’ll spawn or be revived and I’m stuck moving one way until I push the button again (and no, my keyboard buttons aren’t sticking)

I got a funny mental image of you slamming your face on your keyboard to fix this problem and that being the origin of your name

aha! Well that mental image wouldn’t be too far from the truth my friend ; )
Intel controlled USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports on my motherboard are stable but the Asmedia controlled USB 3.1 capable ports frequently have issues.
Washing or replacing your mouse mat could help as well. All the tracking issues I’ve had were either sensor or mat related.
