anyone else feel that the SNITCH is a little OP?

(AnonOmis1000) #1

Now I’ll preface this by saying I’m not a very good player and I fully accept that my opinion could be wrong. However, I feel like the SNITCH is a little too powerful right now. Firstly, the merc role-call seemed to have lied about its limited range. It seems like it has the same area of detection as the turret.

I next question if it makes Sawbone’s health packs and Aura’s health station useless as those are heal over time or increase in regeneration rate, not a direct boost to health like Spark’s heath packs or Phoenix’ AOE heal. Since the device will zap you again as soon as the debuff is removed, heals over time should be negated right away as device disables health regeneration.

naah, its very hard to push with snitch, and redeye is much more powerful on defense. In general low HP is a major drawback, compared to the beefier mercs.

(SaulWolfden) #3

It has to have line of sight on people to zap them iirc.

(noobtia) #4

No. It’s fine.

(AnonOmis1000) #5

@SaulWolfden yeah but doesn’t mean you have line of sight on it

(fruityoat) #6

I think they did really well balancing it. Yeah it can be powerful and hard to see but its long CD and high visibility while placing it balance those.

IMO it’s an interesting game mechanic, and it’s also pretty fun finding creative places to hide it

(AnonOmis1000) #7

I agree that they did a very good job. It doesn’t blatantly feel OP, abd that’s coming from someone who’s shit at the game. However, I feel like it might be a little too strong right now and that it’s ZAP range is a little too far. Again, time will tell as the meta evolves. As I said I’m shit at the gane so at no time do I think my impressions to different mechanics will be completely correct. I just am giving my opinion as perhaps others do as well, or, as have been done in this thread, been explained why it isn’t.

(RedBeard) #8

nope.

(Sinee) #9

No.

(scrub_lord) #10

Once they fix its infinite vertical range it will be fine.

(neverplayseriou) #11

25% or 33% (whatever it is) extra damage for the entire enemy team when they know your position is op, it should only apply to aimee and for the rest of the team just spot like the other recons do (except for Phantom). Atm it’s way to easy to push the attackers once they’ve been spotted or just spawn camp.

(watsyurdeal) #12

Not even slightly

It’s perfect where it is, don’t touch it unless you’re fixing bugs.

(Reddeadcap) #13

I just find it annoying that it’s almost impossible to notice when it hits a surface, but at least it has a trail on it’s route.

(extraordinaryEmperor) #14

It’s UP IMO. You just shoot it once and it’s gone. It’s on a 30sec CD too. I prefer vasilli over Aimee, they do almost the same thing anyway. Or go redeye if you prefer Grandeur. The only thing Aimee has going for her is speed.

The only time it’s actually dangerous is if you’re forced to fight while it’s zapping you. Other than that if it zaps you while you’re just travelling, just look for it and destroy it. It can only hide in so many places (namely above).

(BlazinFox) #15

You understand that this this is a dark black color right? You can almost never see it unless you see it’s red/blue color. If you have Bombsquad you’re fine. Not even some higher lvls can find it that easily. Now if you throw it right at their face it’s going to get destroyed. Throw it when people can’t see it. It Isn’t going to be destroyed so easily

(extraordinaryEmperor) #16

Then I’m afraid you’re not looking hard enough. It has a red dot on it. There aren’t many environmental things that look red. I always find it if I happen to get zapped by it. Because you know it has vision of you, therefore you just stand in the place where you got zapped and look for it, if you have the luxury, otherwise just avoid the place for a bit and try to scout it out.

Obvious noob is obvious.

(cFn) #17

There is also bomb squad perk or w/e its called

(CCP115) #18

It never runs out, it’s incredibly stealthy, but it has a relatively short spot range and an incredibly obvious trail when deployed.

Eh, seems fine to me. Debuff is almost unnoticeable on low damage weapons.

(Szakalot) #19

@CCP115 you know it doesnt matter right? 10% of a 100damage is same as 10% of 10 times 10damage shots

(JJMAJR) #20

I decided to do this little test to see how Aimee’s doing:
Multiply the headshot damage for Aimee’s weapons by its DM.

PDP: 90*1.25=118
–>Able to incapacitate Sawbonez and Bushwhacker in one shot, as well as incapacitate Skyhammer, Arty, or other 120 HP classes if they take even a small fraction of damage.

Grandeur: 80*1.25=100
–>Able to instantly kill fewer classes, but can still take down a Phoenix with ease. Other classes need to take more damage before any incapacitated people are on the floor.

FEL-IX: 158*1.25=197.5
–>Hard to know how much damage comes out of this. The most worrying part of the ability is the fact that body shots could cause a lot of trouble for most players, being able to incapacitate a Proxy easily isn’t bad, but the fact that it could take down anything below 100 HP seems kind of excessive.

I just don’t think it’s right that the PDP becomes a death machine with the SNITCH. There’s a lot of other weapons that get very strong with the DM as well.

Stark:
3631.25=135
(362+18)1.25=112.5
(18
2+36)1.25=90
18
3
1.25=67.5

With extreme accuracy, the Stark can realistically hit the face of an enemy twice in one burst. This dishes out around 90 damage. With the DM, you can shred a Fletcher with that.

I don’t think that Aimee should even be using the weapons she currently has if this is how strong she’s going to be. She however is a glass cannon (90 HP, 400 SP), not being able to move as fast as Vassili nor having the same amount of health. This doesn’t change the fact that Aimee is potentially the strongest character in the game, being able to bring back an incredibly high amount of sniper power from the past.
