Anyone else a fan of a sensitivity option SPECIFICALLY for sniper rifles?

(KayDubz) #1

I like to have my ADS sensitivity the same as my hip fire sensitivity, so I set my sight sensitivity scale to 1. However, with sniper rifles, this makes them WAY too sensitive scoped in, and I prefer a scale near zero.

Anyone else feel like I do and want a sensitivity option just specifically for sniper rifles?

Set up a dpi switch on your mouse, done.

That doesnt fix it.

So youre expecting me to hit a DPI switch when I switch between Vasillis rifle and side arm? Really? I have to hit two buttons (waste time) when in a gun battle, to switch from my rifle to my sidearm, and also to the sensitivity I prefer with sidearm? That bit of wasted time is enough to get my killed in a gun fight.

Nevermind the fact that having to constantly do that will likely get me killed in battle for those times I accidentally have the wrong sensitivity selected for whatever weapon Vas is holding.

Its much simpler for the devs to add a sensitivity slider thats solely for sniper rifles.

A DPI switch is how all the pros do it.

I’m pretty sure there is a sensitivity setting for iron-sighting. Its not Scope only, but outside of sniper rifles you don’t need it much anyway.

Who cares about pros, they arent the bulk of DB gamers are they? There are gun fights where I switch from my rifle to my sidearm a couple times. Im expected to switch to my sidearm, press a DPI switch, switch back to my sniper rifle, hit the DPI switch again, and then do the sidearm and DPI switch yet again to avoid dying while maintaining optimum aiming? Really?

And there are games that have done what I am talking about. Again, having to press two buttons to switch to sidearm and change weapons when using Vas, isnt economical use of time in a gun fight.

I mean, in the past when people asked for the ADS setting, folks responded with “use DPI switch”. But the devs added it right? So Im simply getting a convo going on a sniper specific setting.

I acknowledged the ADS sensitivity setting in my original post. Im saying that a different setting specifically for sniper rifles would be nice.

I just quickscope lol.

(XavienX) #9

Lmao. That’s unfortunately REALLY hard to do in this game because the animation doesn’t sync up immediately the second you scope in when you see through the scope, the program still thinks you aren’t scoped in so you shoot out a bullet that goes random like a no scope.

Yes it does.

You would hit (and hold, if you have it setup like me) the switch as you are switching weapons since your pretty much not gonna be doing any shooting for that brief second, and it all becomes natural pretty damn quick.

Have it set up so you hold the button down, as soon as you release the dpi sets back to normal. It wont get you killed…well maybe at first but like i said it becomes apart of your reflex.

To be honest I think most people would want the devs to continue working on adding content, bug fixing etc, no need for them to deter from that just to reinvent the wheel when you have the technology quite literally in the palm of your hands. Not saying its a bad idea, heck they might even add something like that in, if so great more power to you.

I’m just offering you a solution which you could use right now, in the present, take it or leave it ; )

Why would u even switch back to your sniper rifle to then switch to ur sidearm again?

Again, simple slider coding fixes this rather than making players do things some other shooters dont require. Why should I lose potentially gun battles over this? This is no different from when people asked for an ADS slider.

Excuses were made then by players like you, but devs still added it. All Im saying is that I shouldnt need extra button presses or deviate from how most shooters are played just to get sensitivity right.

I mean, this was the exact same discussion had before ADS sliders were added. For now Ive simply not used Vas as much. shrug.

Snipers who know how to stay alive switch between weapons, and also encounter people up close who try to flank their position. So a mix of up close and distance battle happens.

You could always do something like this if FovSensitivity feels wonky.

setbind “rightmousebutton” “AltFire | SetSensitivity 6 0 | OnRelease SetSensitivity 5.4 0”
