Hey Sandman77
There are plenty of tips and yet there are many in the forum - just watch out for them and search in the threads.
I cannot recommand much to you just - play what YOU like. I have about 8 squad-members yet but I mainly use 3 - where the commander is always in
It is always nice if you start with one map. From your 20 games play 5, 10 or even 15 always 1 map - don’t play too much on one or it might get boring once in a while - and get good at exactly that map. Get out one setup that fits your character the most. If your aggressive - be aggressive. If you are annoying - be annoying. If you want to be like “SURPRISE” - be surprising. If you want to be Rambo - be Rambo.
There is a huge variety of squad-members in there and yet a huge amount of possible squad-setups.
Each and every character has it’s pros and cons - you may figure that on your own.
There is yet no OVERPOWERED class, setup or weapon in there - we would have found out and reported that
So … use your imagination.
I came in and got the setup I yet like the most from the beginning on : Dave, Commander(artillery) and SneakyPete. I played on one map [I do not want to tell what map it is ppl could start not playing on that map agaisnt me ] and made up plenty good moves and counters on that map.
The game still has many Rock-paper-scissors things - there is ( in theory) no “best choice” in RPS
tbh there are chars that are not played too often ( like Suds) and cheap in the market but that does not mean they are weak.
These chars are mostly good in 20 /26 pt games.
SOOO:
The best thing I could tell you is: play play play. If you want to learn quick and fast somehow documentate your games // win/lose // your most common mistakes // bad turns + good turns. // positions for special things
try out as much as you can and find your personal playing.
You can even copy your usual setup from other games - prefered heroes/ classes / strategy / weapons.
Hope you have fun in the game
hope my comment helped a bit
happy hollidays.
with friendly regards
