Hi!
You can have a look at the map called Rhine Bridge by Drakir. He did somehting similar.
You can find Rhine Bridge map at many places:

http://www.downloads.jolt.co.uk/index.php?page=download.php&action=filenotes&id=1100
http://www.compkal.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=getit&lid=156

(Another map like that, with a river, is Caen.)

Good luck!

May I suggest that you make backup copies of your .map file, and that you do it at regular intervals. For example every day or week, depending on how often you work on your map.
I have lost many, many project because I did not make copies. (And I still do, because I am a very lazy person.)

And here are my two favorite places , for learning how to map:
http://www.planetwolfenstein.com/4newbies (Click on “Tutorials by Iffy”), and
http://www.spyjuice.com/ld.htm

Keep on mapping!

In “common” (texture/common).

I think he means in “Alpha”, dont you?

(Loffy) #8

Cerberus, you are right. It’s in “alpha”.

you could also make the river take a turn.

in response to loffy’s post, i always save my maps as a new mapname about every hour. so like if i saved right now, it would be “mapname08301516.map” for the name of the map, august 30 at 15.16. ive lost too much work so i started doing this.
