I confess that the original unveiling of the founders packs was lost on me, this game wasn’t exactly publicized frequently back then.
Are there any plans to make founders packs (obviously the first three) available again at a later date, or to interested closed beta participants? I realize that the purpose of founders packs is for the benefit of the company, not the player, but I’d like to see them back now that the game is a bit more well-known.
As we have been playing for over a year and a half, I don’t think “Founders” would be a relevant term “Swag Pac” on the other hand might be
Founders packs for most games are provided up until open beta, this is more the exception than the rule to be honest. I know more than a few people that would have been interested in purchasing a founders pack for dirty bomb, but had no idea what it was before they were taken down. It’s not like it was something that was hyped.
I agree with nail: getting back founder packs right now is not relevant since it’s not the time for founders anymore. Also here founder might not have the same meaning than in other games where by founder you just get extra stuff and are allowed to play the game earlier. Here it was about testing the game and actively help by giving feedback and suggest potential solutions. The early days of development of the game are behind us now and feedback will get less and less impact on the state of the game as more and more mechanics are finalized. Now it’s more about playing to give ECHO statistics and to give general feedback. You can still help by playing and giving constructive feedback !
Then concerning the communication when the packs did get out, well they made a full video and a website just for it. It was announced on their tweeter and facebook pages as well as on their official website. If you didn’t see it at the time then you were not following closely enough SD’s activity. That’s why it’s pretty much only hardcore fans and dedicated testers who have bought in with the founder packs. From what I know of it wasn’t even planned, but wisely suggested by a few guys who were already testing games for SD with QW or Brink (thanks guys !)
