Any plan on adding vote kick to competitive?

(Draza) #1

Hello, Draza here.

As many of us know, Dirty Bomb’s competitive mode has its share of cheaters. I know, I know, the devs are working hard to resolve this issue, but adding the option to vote kick those lowly creatures would GREATLY reduce their number.

So, like the title says, have you considered this option?

P.S: I also hate that in a match with a hacker, there is usually one person asking him to pass him the hack. What the hell.

Hackers in competitive are absolutely a problem, but a bigger problem would be experienced players kicking “noob” players doing their first competitive matches, this would be an issue because it would make it more difficult for newer players to complete missions and overall hinder their credit earning process.

Normally I don’t mind them going around hacking for an easy win to fulfill their lives, but it annoys me personally when I have that “Win 1 competitive match” mission, it feels almost impossible to complete… but a play mission is doable.

I understand what you mean, but normally the one who complains about ‘noob team buah buah’ is only one person. Also, it’s pretty difficult to succeed the vote, ALMOST everyone has to vote yes, so it would be pretty difficult to kick ‘noobs’.

No. Vote kick will not exist in competitive. Very easy to abuse and the solution is extremely poor as it would create a 5v4 match. Provides incentive to kick players just to try for an easy win.

Other solutions will more likely be implemented, such as if a player receives enough competitive reports his match history could be made void to prevent any negative on users that lost to him or won with him. While you would still need to suffer through that match, it would have no permanent negative.

Personally, I would rather see a surrender vote option.

Of course! I did’t think about the balance! LOL.

Actually your idea is far better! If there is a hacker, surrender. Let’s see how they have their fun hehe.

Thanks for giving an even better option! And for the answer, of course.

You don’t want votekick in competive. I’mean obviously you do and I understand the reason, but votekicking a teammate puts your team at a disadvantage (since comp mode doesn’t give new teammates). Winning a 4 v 5 is only possible if the skill difference is pretty high (which would mean matchmaking didn’t do its job).

Instead, what you want, is that all the reasons why you might feel the need to kick someone are prevented in the first place (And as you pointed out the devs are hard at work).

Completely agreed.

As i said, the vote surrender option that Ardez suggested is a far better solution than mine.
Thanks for answering!

Pub should have surrender too tbh. To stop 15 minute spawn rapes. Only able to call it after 3 minutes and needs 70% to pass or something.

Is this serious? Was this ever problem in previous SD games as WOLF:ET? Vote kick was working everywhere and it well serves it’s purpose… Are you guys serious talking about abuse? How? That I kick my team mate just like because I want and create disadvantage for my team? Come on… The cheaters are ruining competitive more than an occasional team mate kick ever would… Wake up please.

The Wolf:ET servers were run by people themselves not by SD so any server could have any settings.

I also see another problem with the votekick being used to end a losing match prematurely by just kicking someone so the others (losing team) can leave without punishment unless a votekick doesn’t count as ‘leaving’.
