Any new Brink News or Videos?

(tokamak) #21

Crysis 2 is far less daunting than COD though. Hardly any established fanbase.

Saw the gameplay videos of Crysis2 - and gotta say, if Bethesda fears this title… that says a whole lot about what they think of their own product.

(DarkangelUK) #23

It’s more the hype than the established fanbase that’s driving it. Crysis was a very much talked about PC game, and the fact it’s not making it to console is making the masses wonder what all said talk was about.

(Spaiker) #24

I’m not saying it is going to delayed again…
I surely hope not.

(DouglasDanger) #25

What is going on with Brink? When is the release date? When can we expect the advertising to start? Is it still coming out in the spring?

(tokamak) #26

Yes but Bethesda is going for this new innovative campaign where a game is being retro-actively hyped a few months after it’s released.

Seriously where’s the advertising?

(X-Frame) #27

Well, the “Spring” can be all the way until late June so it still could be many months away - and it doesn’t make sense to start turning up the heat early butttttt … I too was hoping for EARLY spring.

Still wish we’d get a definitive release date though.

(Protector) #28

Only new stuff I keep seeing is job positions opening up on the splash damage team which is quite worrying… We see a complete lack of game advertising and lots of job advertising. Doesn’t look to good to me.

(DarkangelUK) #29

To be fair, it’s up to Bethesda to do the game advertising… I suppose you could view it as a good thing that they’d rather throw more people at the game than more time, new hires could be done to ensure the release date is met rather than pushing back once again.

(LyndonL) #30

Pfft YOU don’t look good to me

</immaturity>

(Protector) #31

Agreed, but when they are advertising for Lead roles it does make you wonder what is going on in house, hopefully you are right and these roles will help towards ensureing a release on time, we will see.

(DarkangelUK) #32

I’m thinking these are support rolls, Deano is the Lead Programmer already… unless he suddenly parted ways for his own reasons.

(tokamak) #33

Yes, that really didn’t work out for COD Black Ops.

(EscoBlades) #34

Its currently in closed beta.

(Senethro) #35

Hate to say it, but I’m kind of getting ETQW launch deja vu! Two E3s with good footage of what gives the impression of a game in an advanced state of completion, hype machine spins up 3 months in advance of release date, release delayed 6 months, repeat, repeat again if necessary, actual launch goes largely unhyped.

At least its not being released alongside TF2, CoD4, Crysis, a Halo iteration and Bioshock. That quarter of 2007 was crazy for FPS.

(SockDog) #36

I think the ads are due to people leaving more than anything else, I wouldn’t read too much into them.

I would say that I’d expect marketing to ramp up in the next few weeks if we’re going to see the game anytime in the first quarter. If they leave it too late they’ll be releasing slap bang in the convention season which will generate a lot of noise and maybe even some shocker announcements that could take away from the release of Brink.

(Kinjal) #37

Revolution begins - fall 2011 (why not? )

(tokamak) #38

That’s a sentiment I’ve been hearing all year through.

(AnthonyDa) #39

Yes, RAGE will be out until then

Adding people to a project near the end is not very likely to quicken production, in some cases it might even cause delay. These new people [should] know nothing about how the game is being made and have to be brought up to pace and learn all the details.
