Any love for the Pre-Alpha announcer?

Talking about this of-course;

I really like him, can take him a lot more seriously than the current one, although I can udnerstand the change to an actual UK accent. I honestly find it laughable everytime he says “DEFOOSE TEH FUCKEN C4” though, with the Pre-Alpha voice I’d be like rushing to get there instead of laughing my ass off.

I also think the radio distortion, or whatever you want to call it, sounds a heck of a lot better than it does now, but that’s probbaly just me.

The graphics looked better… Why does that look more polished then now?

Always with the complaining fap master! :slight_smile:

I actually think the guns all sound better there tbh. And why was the % number removed from planting?

(umberInlet) #7

Is there any sort of way to get your game to look like it was pre-alpha?

(STOGE) #8

I imagine it’s just like any typical video game teaser/trailer, wanting to make itself look as good as possible.

Take Watch Dogs for example, ran at breathtaking graphics in the trailers and stuff, but came out not looking as good.

I imagine that’s all it is, if anything I’d expect making the game look pretty to be the least of Splash Damages priorities right now which I respect.

I do like the older announcer but since this is in London 2020, I guess it made more sense that the announcer had a British accent.

My theory is the original announcer sounded wayyyyyyyy too CoD/BF serious when this game isn’t trying to be a straight up military shooter. Or at least now isn’t. Also, the game is made by a company based in the UK and takes place in the UK and having an announcer who sounds American, beyond the cod/bf influence, is just odd.

Tone change. The game looks like it was patterning it’s graphics after current military shooters at the time and at some point SD decided to change the tone of the game. I much prefer the current graphics over the super gritty realistic ones it originally was going to have and same with the tone of the game overall. It could also have to do with performance reasons as well.

The only announcer I’ll listen to is the female one (or the older male one), the current male one just screams a lot and make me want to ignore the objective just to spite him.

On another note, I’d really like to see the rest of Bridge used again, the final part looks so good.

There’s a female announcer?
