Any hope for Phantom?

Does anyone have any information from any devs/streams/anything that may hint towards a possible re-look at Phantom again in the upcoming patch?

Not asking anyone’s opinion on him, so I’m not attempting to start a debate or nothin’. Just curious if there’s been anything said or hinted even slightly. ty. :blush:

Not that I know of but i would enjoy seeing something from SD showing that they’re paying attention to what the Community is saying and or Wants.

Id rly want a rework but this time i want it to be from the people who know the merc and like him and arent babys which cry evri tim.
Eg: his health being brought to 110, the chopper nerf and smg nerf.
Those r all from people who just dont know what they’re thinking.

I have to admit, before the patch Phantom was too easy to use but what’s going on with the people behind this?

1: I’m curious, Why bring his health down if the main issue was his armor’s high damage resistance and recharge rate (2 and 3)? 10 health can actually make much of a difference and 120 health looks like the game’s “Default” health so to speak, at the speed that phantom walks/sprints if one is afraid of getting katana stabbed, the people that are likelier to die quickly from it are the ones that can outrun him well.

2: Much needed, I see this as the main issue with playing as/against Phantom at the time, one could cloak, attack, hide and cloak in rapid succession.

3: Much needed as well and understandable for one to be frustrated over.

4: By slightly, they mean “you need to be blind not to see him”, right? He’s too easy to see unless standing still.

5: Understandable, giving players who pay attention to noises an advantage, now if only they would work on doing the same with 4 since it was alright before.

6: Why was this given to every weapon in the first place, they removed it for slashes with the update as of this edit but why not just add it the katana RMB Lunge/Stab?

7: The Katana and Cricket bat have this, Makes some sense due to weight?

8: Why add this if 6 for the katana’s lunge/stab was good enough?

9: Not much of an issue for the Katana, for the Stilnotto Stiletto’s stab it’s a bit annoying due to changes done to it on the Phantom update and changes done to chopper making it do with chopper 97 damage.

10: The Kek and if I’m not mistaken Crotzni got nerfed, mainly because they were seen as objectively the best SMGs, with the update as of this edit they seem to be evened out making the Blishlok and the SMG-9 an understandable sidegrade in some loadouts.

Finally: I don’t think undercover even works and Redeye was meant to have it too, increasing his smoke duration but this is the weirdest, They made it so when a Phantom is detected he isn’t uncloaked, but now he’ll stay cloaked… with a detected marker over his head.

The biggest problem is #4 and #8. The only reason they reduced how long he can damage someone with his sword was to prevent the beyblade exploit but isn’t that what #6 is for?

4 in general was a bad idea and this is coming from shooting a Phantom perspective, he’s just too visible, before it was alright, one could easily notice him upclose, both in high and low settings but Now one can notice him from the machinegun turret at Chapel if he were to run around infront of the other turret.

As for the 8 and 6 changes, at least with the recent update they made the turn speed for primary attacks have no turning limiters, I don’t remember where I read it but the limiters for the RMB was meant to be just be used for the stab, so why decrease the damage for a shorter period?

Keep in mind, their data is inaccurate. If you’ll look at the graphs posted with the patch notes, their flawed data collection methods led them to believe that the Crotzni was out-performing other SMGs, when in fact the community’s consensus is that the KEK-10 is OP, the Crotzni was fine, and the other SMGs need buffs.

Also how do you gather data on how stealthy a merc is? You can see that players are doing well or not, but that says little about what people actually want out of him. Most players that want a change generally want him to be stealthier, as that would be far funner to play.

@impishCommander WOW buddy calm down now and hold on to the idea of a refund for now. Now you need to be more skilled to use him. Also learn how to play. He aint op any more but that doesn’t mean he’s useless even tho i’d like some changes to.

Dunno why they would go two whole fine tuning patches without giving him SOMETHING. The melee buff does not count because it was not even aimed at him. (altho it did help a bit)
