Search “dirty bomb configs”. There is a sub redit here : https://www.reddit.com/r/dirtybombconfigs
Most of the config change-able through the ini file was patched. Better use ingame settings and advanced settings option, I don’t find any performance improving stuff working through config edit.
I found a guide for X-com that apparently applies to all Unreal Engine 3 Titles to fix Stuttering. And it got rid of 99% of the stuttering for me, still get the occasional hiccup here or there but other than that a completly stable 120 fps maxed out!
Here is link if anyone is interested in giving it ago…
[quote=“SiegeFace;149375”]Ok did a lil digging, came across this guide https://steamcommunity.com/app/200510/discussions/0/846960628563773260/ to fix stutters in Xcom. But apparently this applies to all Unreal Engine 3 Titles.
I applied it and no weird stutters or random drops so far but early days, so might want to give this a shot mate!
The engine file they are talking about is located in My Documents > My Games > UnrealEngine3 > ShooterGame > Config > ShooterEngine.ini
Before you make any changes I suggest making a copy of the file and rename it from “ShooterEngine” to “ShooterEngineBackup” or Original or something so if something messes up, you can delete the modified version and rename the backup back to “ShooterEngine” and start from square 1.
And after you have made all the changes in this guide I would also suggest changing the ShooterEngine file to read-only so the game doesn’t change anything when you boot it up. Also Make a backup of the new version just in case.
If you need any help with this let me know, and Ill do my best to assist!

I suffer from stutters every 15 mins orso, like 1-2 seconds freeze, then suddenly im at a wall running into it ;).
Really costed me some matchmaking fights. Im going to try this just to be sure.
@Opicron Let me know if it works for you, it all got reset for me after update and reapplying the tweaks didn’t seem to work (and I tried ranked straight away without testing first), gonna refresh the ini file from a backup and try again now fingers ruddy crossed
Edit: Works like a charm, have no idea why the backup works but not the new one i made…ill have to go over it at some point to see whats new/different.
The forced-on-textures means that My game has a maximum of 40 fps. Turning these off helps, as seen when I played the beta maps with VERY good frames. Such a shame I’ll go back to 20 fps when the maps officially release.
@garydarby84 bring up console using either ¬ or ’ or the home key then type “Stat FPS” without quotations
Alternatively since this game uses steam you could also just use steams in-game fps counter
Click Steam in the top left of Steam > Settings > In-Game > In-Game FPS Counter
