Just curious for those saying we shouldn’t spam the forums with something that is NEEDED in the game we enjoy.
How does having anti-cheat hurt you again? Or how does having a bunch of threads about it affect you exactly?

It doesn’t. Rule just serves no purpose other than going into each thread and saying “Oh this thread again”. Then he gets hostile, argues against it with everybody, calls them retarded and goes to sleep. He repeats this daily. It’s shocking he hasn’t been removed yet.

I tend to assume the extremely arguementive type online are missing something in their daily lives so they take it out on people online. I always relate a lot of stuff online to real life, would be like me not liking the food I recieved at a restaurant and a random other customer getting in my face going “WHY DON’T YOU LIKE DIS FEWD…LOOKS FINE TEH MEH.”

And what about people who were VAC-banned by mistake? I was VAC-banned live on a CS:GO stream while I tried to fix my game crashing. I was an idiot, to download .dll files from a CS forum, but still, it was a mistake on Valves side.
I want a real working anti-cheat too. So bad. I want Dirty Bomb to be playable and not being destroyed by hacks as so many nice games out there were.

same. I hope the “it’s coming” is FairFight and “it’s coming” means that it has been running on their servers gathering information for bans.
In case people do not know what FairFight is, it is a middle program run only on the servers and analyzes long term statistics. It basically catches cheaters because they play in capacities far beyond human capability for an inhumanly long period of time.
Not just K/D ratio but detecting if people land too many headshots with certain weapons or if people are tracking enemies through the walls even without HB monitors or even people who always run through empty areas (no opponents) but instantly stop the moment they enter an area with a hiding enemy they shouldn’t see (wall hacks).
There is a lot FF uses to mark cheaters and did an excellent job in APB Reloaded (got rid of nearly 150 closet cheaters many suspected but stayed hidden for over 3 years).
@ laudatorylunch sadly there is no perfect option out there. Every anti cheat I know of has something great about it and and something that it does horribly wrong. Fair fight is great but it bans legit players because of how it actually works. Like you downloaded files from a forum, that was your own fault, and you didn’t have to download them did you? My point is, if you just play the game and have no special files downloaded or flagged apps running in the background you’ll be fine.
@robustwonder there in lies the problem. Some people are incredible on this game, they have insane accuracy and are legit players. If they get tracked and then banned by fair fight that would be pretty bad. Although one or two legit player bans would be fine if every hacker would be caught and banned in the game but that is impossible. Sadly a smart cheat would pad the stats, spam fire a wall so your accuracy drops or even just leave the ‘hack’ off at the start of the game. Players that cheat like that will be very hard to spot.

Well, if people got 95%++ accurasy, have to many hs, some inhuman reaction time…
There is a difference between long term statistics in multiple categories that can show a person as playing above human skill (cheating) and a person who is extremely good at this game (legit).
Statistics for each game takes a while to work out as there are different mechanics for every game, but once they are set it is nearly impossible for a legit player to get flagged.
We aren’t talking about someone who is just accurate and good at killing.
