Another epic defensive hold on Resort at the final Obj.

So the Attackers blow through the pillar, bridge, and tank escort objectives with 20 mins to spare. “Great”, I think, “this was an ass-kicking”. Oh well, let’s have fun since it’s an almost full 7vs7 match.

My fire team was Leming, Sleepy, and Shwaheely, along with 3 others, and we setup shop in the hack room. We had 3 Engies, 2 medics, 2 soldiers, and an Op holding off wave after wave of 6-7 attackers. They had 4 heavies on their frontline, and every minute or so, they’d all make the push with a couple of Gotlungs, a Chinzor, and a Maximus or EZ Nade, all golden. It was quite a sight to behold when you saw them approaching. Behind the heavy line was a couple of skinny ops and a soldier/medic and they had a guy hanging back sniping us from the far balcony.

I give them props for their efforts, it was totally crazy at times and we had some awesome battles in the hack hut and around the trees. They definitely coordinated some good attack runs and gave us some intense firefights. Great communication within our fire team, as Leming kept our guns golden and setup mines and the turret, Sleepy kept us alive and revived, and Shwaheely was annoying them with his UAV and would leave the hack hut to go mess with them on the way or bayonet their sniper.

I played heavy Soldier with a Gotlung and Lobster and just killed them 54 times out of my team’s 187 kills. I am good for something every once in a while. I think I even handed out some ammo once or twice  and I must have got at least 2000xp from flash bangs alone. Every time a teammate would yell, “Here they come!” I’d chuck out a flash bang past the trees and get +150XP! Jackpot!

Brink’s fun.

That last objective is very very hard to take if your team hunkers down and defends!

(isetfires) #3

:cool:Nice.

(SinDonor) #4

Indeed. Usually, when we’re attacking, we’ll go as an organized group like they did but we don’t go in guns blazing like that. They also were bunched up too much and it made it easier to kill them with nades and my bullet hose.

We attack it a little slower, chucking nades in a lot first and our medics hang back making sure to revive and buff when needed. If we kill some of them, we then make sure to have a couple guys watching their spawn area to disrupt their reinforcements. That’s another mistake they were making tonight. They were all so focused on the hack hut, they didn’t notice the 2-3 of us hopping off our spawn point to their flank. Easy kills.

blinds, EMPs, covering your back and focusing on one entrance, is the way to go, but it is indeed tough to make the hacking to a finish.

(Sleepy) #6

Fixed! :stuck_out_tongue:

They didn’t really give me the chance to revive any of you. They just mowed you down and made sure you stayed down. I still remember Leming said something like he didn’t even get to see the revive screen when they killed him.

I had an epic battle there yesterday too, problem was my whole team went operative… nubs. But I switched my light op to medic and we got some other variation eventually, and with my fantastic like mr. Fox healing skills we finally pulled it off at the last few seconds. But it was the most intense chaotic battle I have ever had in BRINK. Though im still plagued by one shot kills from pistols and smg’s and no incap time (that frustrates the **** out of me ) I had fun.

Honestly, some of the most fun I’ve had was playing matches w/ SinDonor and some of the other guys.

(wolfnemesis75) #9

That final few maps last night was a blast when we took the fight to the enemy like on Terminal. Going around and attacking the defenders around the upload area was sooo much fun. Divide and conquer. This game can be a mean beast, but its part of the fun. Not for the faint of heart!

(Zekariah) #10

Its honestly way better with guys like Sin, Sleepy, wolf and Neph who play competitively and organised, but don’t suck the fun out of it.

(SinDonor) #11

Woot! Thanks for the props, guys. Yeah, I think we try to play with the FUN as priority number 1. Probably why I don’t like playing vs competition high-level guys. At the competition level, the only important thing is to win (duh) and you have to use only the statistically BEST gun, the Spider-monkey-on-crack skinny body type, and the same tactic (grenade shooting) over and over and over. Yawn, no thanks. I guess that’s an unintentionally jab at the current state of the game, but the good news is that SD is continually looking to balance the game.

When the game does get balanced perfectly though, all it means is that those high level guys will be raping me with a heavy and the Hammer-time or a medium with a FRKN-3K instead of only a light with a Carb-9.

Also, I forgot to mention the 20 minute D stand we all had last night on Sec Tower after they were able to get Nechy all the way before and after the main gate. That was another insane battle, with Wolf, StNickel, Dark, and others.

But Sin, you and I know: Nah, we got this! Ha ha ha ha!

I am happy he was annoying you guys with his high pitched voice and singing so you switched over to our side. We woulda got murdered otherwise if we had to play vs you, Nickel AND Dark.

(wolfnemesis75) #14

Ha ha ha. If I had stayed on the other team, I would not have had you crying for engy candy the whole match like a crackhead. And following me down stairs. Man, I have to share my candy with everyone. How am I suppose to expand my client list? And I can’t wait for you fatties bringing up the rare. I got **** to fix and build ya know, or I don’t get paid.

(SinDonor) #15

Well, if if you don’t gimme da candy, then my Gotlung is useless and might as well be a large can o’ Easy Cheese.

Yeah, when you get caught in the crossfire of 3-4 heavies, you don’t last long. If this game was a bit more gory, I’d be a large pile of hamburger in those situations.

Did you guys end up winning that one? I left about halfway through but it was pretty intense.

(GameScrub) #18

They all started to switch sides and left me all alone attacking and pushing that lazy bum “nechayev” or whatevers.

I was surprised we got it that far though

(SinDonor) #19

Yeah, but we were getting slaughtered at first. It was 4 of us vs 8 of them until Wolf and StNickel switched to our side.

Sorry, I couldn’t take the pinball wizard that was on your team. The kid that started off funny but got annoying real fast.
