animating models

(Higgins) #1

Ive just made a minigun, animated it, and exported it using ‘Export MD3 by Pop N Frech’ for 3dmax.

When I set up the models keys and values, and run the map, it doesnt play the animation it should have. I did export the 15 frames of animation, yet it doesnt show the turrets spinning around like they should be.

Any ideas?

Isnt there any one here who has hadthe same problem when using their own animated models?

(Detoeni) #3

when exporting did you type “0-14” as the frame numbers?
Are you using scripting to run the model or are you just doing a test with misc_gamemodel?

(Higgins) #4

I put 15 as the frame numbers, so i have to put 0-15?, I was using a misc_gamemodel to test it. Ill try adding 0-15 now and see if it works.

(Detoeni) #5

umm, no 0-14 is 15 frames, 0-15 is 16 frames.

well how the hell were we supposed to know that?

Maybe saying, “Thank you Detoeni” would have been better ?

Afterall, you can make a model and animate it but how is the program supposed to know what frames to export just by typing “15” into the line ?
-think logically when using these programs and you’ll save yourself alot of headaches.

err… maybe… basic math? scnr

EDIT: damn… EB was once again faster than me…
