Ability

A gas grenade with similar properties as stokers moly (air speed, trajectory etc) but upon impact releases toxic fumes that cause hallucinations.

Possible hallucination A; Smoke silhouettes of random mercs appear on the affected players screen and shoot at them causing damage indicators but no actual damage. The “smoke mercs” will dissipate after being shot. ALL player mercs will also have the smoke effect as well (Friend and foe).

Possible hallucination B; All other players will look like the aforementioned “smoke mercs” but the affected player can now deal damage to their teammates and will automatically shoot when pointed at another player regardless of team.
If anyone played Haze (awful game), the nectar overdose effects is kinda what i’m going for with B

So many gas Grenade suggestions lately. To be honest, both hallucinations seem pretty useless aside from hallucination B’s damage effects. I’m almost 100% sure that anyone can tell a real enemy apart from a smoky-looking enemy figure. If you made it so that all REAL enemies within the smoke looked just as smoky as the fake ones, it would seem a bit better.

Not wrong about the gas nade mercs :stuck_out_tongue: I did say all players would look smokey regardless of team. And the way the gas works is kinda like the concs, any enemy in the blast gets affected but the gas doesnt stick around, will add it to the main post. I seperated the ideas because I figured both of those together might be borderline broken.

We must have all had a recent diet of beans or something because it is gassy as hell.
I like most ideas with the hallucinations. Cool idea with the automatically shooting.
memory/10 = 5/7 = perfect score?

The only part of this idea I approve of is forcing ON team attack: would force pub players to be a little more careful with their aoe stuff. - In anything structured with team attack on as the default, I’m a bit skeptical.

Having the player automatically fire when looking at another player was my semi-bandaid fix for that. It would force the player who had been affected to be weary of their teammates positions and for their teammates to avoid that player for a short time. Would you consider both ideas together to be broken or justified?

Forced-firing takes control away from one’s own player: a DEFINITE no in terms of balance and keeping a game fun. - Why rooting effects are no fun to play against.
