For the past month or so I have been met with the message ‘An unexpected error occurred’ whenever I’ve attempted to purchase anything through real money. Luckily for me I have still been able to use credits, but I am yet to be able to further purchase anything. Has this happened to anyone else?

Have you tried verifying integrity of game cache? (right click on Dirty Bomb in game list on steam, properties, local files, verify the integrity of game cache)
I had an unexpected error today when i tried to find a match and it turned out that i had two files corrupted, how they got corrupted i have no idea but it automatically replaced them and it works fine now.
