Ammo crate animation?

Hi there well my ammocrate works… thats fo sho! but what I wanna do is make an animation for when the crate drops it just like… BANG its there I wanna make it so that it falls over… I have to edit the ammocrate thats for sure… But is it possible to make an animation for it without a change in the source… (I wnana make it runable on a server)

u sure cuz the only thing is to make the MD3 an animated one…

you need to activate animation for it , for example when it bounces …

ok how do I do that… I just want to edit the ammocrate_pickup (or somehtin like it) I wanna make it fall over when it drops so no real bouncing… but how do I do that? I know some shizle bout animating but ist animating just the same for a games as for a video or something?

Jaquboss is trying to tell you that even if you make an animated model, you need to edit the code to make the animation play at the right time.

But don´t care this is not so important … but ET really need better physics ( Unreal like is enought )

I agree on the phys shizle thats why I wanted to make this post… I now some shizle bout animatin and so on… but I havn’t got a clue how to import it into ET…
cant I just make an external scipt liek with the player model (see the directory and there is an animation script)

well kink* game is coded to use that script for defined features , and if you really need that it will require coding and coding …
also note that weapons in third person are not animated too (see reloading , looking magic in thirdperson :))

Kink*, You WILL need to MODIFY the GAME SOURCE CODE to play ANY animations relating to dropped ammo/medpacks.

Model animations can ONLY be triggered by scripts for MISC_GAMEMODELs. The player-dropped models are NOT animatable by script.

Perhaps someone from SD can comment here - He doesn’t seem to believe us.
