i was finally beeing able to take some screenshots with steam. ingame function outputs only black screens.

so here are two screenshots. with and without ambient occlusion.

you see, with ao enabled the game is pretty dark. i cant imagine that this is normal. maybe someone could post a screenshot from the same spot so we can compare the screenshots? would be highly appreciated.

this is btw. with anti aliasing enabled, vt_lodbias -2 and image_anisotropy 16.

edit: the forum resized the images itself. they were shot in 1680x1050.

From the dxdiag appears you are running with an old driver. Is this correct?

While we appreciate that you may not want to update your drivers in order to play Brink, we can’t guarantee that every feature is fully functional unless you do.

i fixed the problem.

installed the latest 11.6 and it looks normal now. very little visual difference, but it definetely works.

can you post the same screenshots again? I want to see the difference. I also have a ATI card and running 11.5 drivers

Ok I can’t see any difference at all except your fps drops. I will test this also on my system tonight

Look on the concave 90 degree corners and you will see the diference. The much the concave corners, the much is the difference.

I believe the challenge “Be More Objective” is a nice place to see it.

This is like AA, in the begining people dont noticed the change, but now everyone agree its awesomius!

Others areas like this one have the same effect. The much enclosured is the area, the much it have shadows, because ambient light have increased difficult to reach it.

yea, but you almost dont notice it and you dont notice it at all when you are actually playing.

i recommend turn it off for the extra frames. ~10fps make a difference, especially running with lower spec machines.
