I can understand why people don’t like the Caulden. It’s high damage doesn’t really compensate for its low magazine size of 7, but it isn’t a bad pistol IMO. If you have good aim you can take out almost every merc with 4 headshots, and it looks better than all the other pistols (doesn’t matter, I know but I thought I’d point it out anyways). For some reason I really don’t like the M9, just because it feels like a peashooter (and looks like one too), but it works fine when I need to pull it out to finish off an enemy.
Am I the Only One Who Doesn't Hate the Caulden?
It has a ton of recoil, low mag capacity and spreads like crazy on top of having an inferior firerate to the Selbstadt and M9. 4 extra damage doesn’t really cut it.
It’s a great gun, awesome look and sound, hits hard, great finisher when SMG runs out of ammo in close firefight.
You aren’t the only one. You are just really outnumbered if you like the Caulden. The only thing that’s worse might be the Deagle.
I hate the deagle. So much. I mean it’s not bad, but compared to the other two revolvers it’s kinda trash
Wait, do people actually use pistols for more than finishing off?
I literally don’t care what pistol I get, I actually care more for the knife I get, since I dislike the Cricket bat so much.
I really like it outside of the sound it makes when you fire it. But I’ve been a huge fan of the revolvers. They all require you to restrain yourself and not fire at max RoF and if you can do that they are pretty beastly.
Yeah, taking out a Fragger with 3 headshots of the S&W is kinda great.[/quote]
I noticed they actually fixed revolver hitsounds in this patch, now you actually get the ding when you score headshots.
Yeah, it’s statistically better, but I just don’t like the “feel” of it.

Same here. I think it’s got to do with the visual recoil - the Caulden simply blocks less of the screen.
such a small mag for something that doesn’t hit hard.
If it had a mag of say 12, it would be fine.
but yes, it is shit
I love the Caulden sound, that’s mostly why it’s my favorite pistol. It strikes fear and confusion everywhere it goes.
less recoil, more dmg or not…if the gun animation is annoying as the one on DE…I’d prefer caulden over DE. DE’s animation is utterly annoying. It feels like the recoil is huge because of the animation. But the truth is, Caulden kicks harder. Yet I still prefer Caulden over Deagle.
I’d say both. Give it 1 more bullet and a small 5-10% buff to recoil and/or spread and it’s good to go.

This. The DE’s animation distracts me, and I can’t focus when my arm is flailing around right next to my face.

Same! The only time I care about the sidearm is on Vassili and a little bit on Proxy, Aura, or Fletcher, but not much. I just like having those SMG sidearms.
Also, I hate the cricket bat. Would much rather prefer a knife.
