Am I the only one that thinks smoke is hella powerful?

The title.

Seriously, in the right hands this stuff is just awesome. A lot of people hate Redeye. While I agree the Granduer is kind of…awkward to use because of those sites being so imprecise, if you can strain hard enough its not a bad weapon.

Pop that smoke on an MG nest and they cant see sh*t.
Cover a defuser, or a planter. Enough said.
They abusing red house on chapel? Throw a smoke through the window and now they can’t see out.

Its not just me right?

smoke also puts out mollies. it doesnt make enemies choke to death in it yet, so its still strictly a “skill item”, you have to use it properly toget the maximum benefit, but anyone can drop a smoke nade over friendly engies as the plat/defuse/repair

Granate! … What smoke?

^perfection

Smoke is pretty powerful when used well, i.e. on an objective or mg nest, but a lot of the time it can cause more problems, i.e. blocking the enemy team from view while they’re doing the objective.
Some interesting things I’ve noticed during my 90 or so hours of Redeye playtime, smoke makes Phantom visible as a silouette while he’s using refractive armour, and also that it can block Bushwhacker turrets from tracking.

Yes, this is definitely true, but the idea isn’t to be doing that. In actual comp (not MM) FF is turned on so that’s true for every ability.

They’re using grenades on smoke and not my face? Thats a win.

They seem to want to buff Redeye as a whole, due to his VERY low play rate. Probably down there along with Arty I’d imagine.

But they keep buffing smoke, and while that’s great and all, doesn’t change his guns, which is one of the reasons why he’s so underplayed.

It’s not even like the gun is terrible, but it NEEDS a different sight, and more consistent hipfire first shot accuracy.

I remember myself and a red eye carried a whole team for the first part of chapel due to our smoke/engineering duo. I wouldn’t say it’s overpowered but If it’s used well it is a really good tool.
