Am i the only one that finds phantom balanced/weak?

i have a thought that the reason there is so much outcry on the forums about this latest merc is because of dislike of his kit rather than his actual performance what i call the Vaseline affect, he at least was the most annoying merc to face according to several poles on this here forum , but i don’t think anyone would say his op in game its just super annoying to be his victim.

I was wondering , in vain no doubt if SD could share some metrics with us , just how is phantom doing? particularly in comparison to the other pure killers, Rhino, Fragger and Nader.

Because i’m just not seeing him dominate the scoreboards in the K:D department in a way that you would expect given the OP calls currently going on.

the reason you’re not seeing him dominate is that a lot of phantom players don’t realize that they have the kek10, an incredibly powerful smg, more powerful than the katana

The low level people are the ones saying he is broken, op, ruining the game, etc. While the ones with atleast a little sense know that he is indeed strong but at the same time he is easy to counter and is not that broken. if they ever nerf Phantom its going to be his stealth, nothing else. probably taking away so the stealth wont soak up dmg.

His cloak tanking damage is the only thing I feel might / should lead to a nerf.

The only problem with phantom is that it’s so easy to stomp noob with him even if the phantom itself isn’t that good, his overall strenght isn’t the problem , i never recall me dying to a phantom while i was using fragger for example; they should higher the skill cap, like slower the katana swing if it misses or boost speed and reduce cloak absorption.
Right now baddies get stomped by pretty much every skill level phantom and they come like an horde crying on forum.
(yesterday i was in the enemy spawn with phantom, everyone spawn and passes trough me; after i killed a few of those guys the “phantom op” spam in chat started; that’s the people we’re dealing with ^^ )

@animatedTelescope The damage that it negates isn’t much, surprisingly, sad part is more often then not its from players who didn’t notice a phantom was standing still or one running at them until it was too late, I’m not sure on how it can be done but in my opinion for ever single second lost via cloak/damage is equal to 2 seconds lost on cool down, or make the cloak only reusable after a complete charge.

He’s got the right tools with the SMGs and Katana, but his ability is broken, it needs tweaking.

It should be useful for stealth and getting behind enemy lines, instead it’s just easy to pick out with good eyes, and tanks damage like Snorlax in Pokemon.

It has nothing to do with peoples lvls. It’s to do with the skill needed to play the class. Which is close to none due to it’s wide slash radius and not needing to aim. You can be the worst FPS player in the world and still get at least some kills with this class while with some1 like Proxy or other squishy classes you wouldn’t get any unless they fell on your mine. Not to mention the fact he has a good SMG and good Health without talking about his skills. So he could actually do quite well vs Proxy Aura ect without using anything as he has the HP advantage.

The main issue is he has completely changed the game. Its no longer a tug of war where you slowly gain ground and full of 1v1 battles and requires consistent aim. It’s now 1 hit slashing people while getting to them when you are invisible and close to invincible too.

If anything it’s the noobs using this class not the noobs moaning about it as a class like this doesn’t appeal to a high skilled player. They want that feeling of winning fairly and simply being better than the other guy. Getting cheap kills brings no enjoyment or accomplishment. Your E=peen stays the same size

I’ve only played a few games with Phantom myself, and it just seems cheap to kill a bunch of average pubbies by bum rushing them with my cloak up and stab them to death. In my opinion, he’s overpowered in that his cloak absorbs 100% of the damage dealt to it. The only things I think that Phantom could be tweaked in is to change the shield to damage reduction (50-70% or so?) and perhaps to increase the cloak cooldown to 10 seconds.

He isn’t banned, He isn’t played. As far as I’m aware she is the only merc banned by Dirty Cups and only because of a bug with her revive gun and the EV when they interact (the EV takes extra damage).
