Every game today and all but one yesterday (obj mode) I get put on the team with fewer players in the lobby (generally defending). This has been pretty consistent over the beta as well… needless to say always being outnumbered gets old quick. Would like to see some stats on this.
Also in the lobby you can’t tell whether you will be attacking or defending (though its usually defending).
i checked some files in the engine dirrectory, and strange thing found this:

Isn’t that the way it should always be: guy that joins the server is put in the team that is short to help even things out?!? What’s the alternative, stack the team with the numerical advantage even more?
yeah im a little confused… why wouldnt you put on the team with less players? O_o
I’m not always joining half way… I can be the first or 2nd there and its the same result. Statisticly 1/2 the time with e.g. 7 players a given player should be on the ‘4’ team or the ‘3’ team, not the case I’ve found.
Actually, from a pure statistics point of view, you should end up on the bigger team just a little more often than 1/2 the time (4/7 of the time in your example), so maybe krokodealer is on to something with his theory 
There does seem to be an issue of the shuffle not shuffling properly, by which I mean it might balance teams occasionally, but generally once you’re on a team you’re on it for the duration.
This is no fun in objective mode have to play attack/defense many many times in a row.
Just had a few 2v1s and it put me on attack and the 2 each time. Strange…
