Hi,
I already posted this on another thread, but I decided I might as well have a look at the other threads that seem to have similar problem as I did, and offer the solution I found working with my computer. I have a Asus ENGTX 460 SLI display driver combination, so I’m not sure if this will work with those who have ATI, but I’d say it’s worth the try…
I had similar problem, which resulted with the game and computer freezing, and sometimes crashing to my desktop with windows announcing that the OpenGL driver has lost connection to my display driver after random periods of time after 10 to 15 minutes of playing the game - it didn’t matter whether or not I was in the game or in the game menu - but I managed to fix it, and this is how I did it…
I went to my control panel, clicked on my Nvidia control panel, went to the 3D settings -> Manage 3D settings -> and turned my Vertical Sync into “Force On”. After that the game stopped crashing and I’ve been able to play for hours without any major problems.
There have been some minor graphical glitches every now and then (approximately every ten to fifteen minutes), with the horizon blinking blue for 1/4 of a second, with everything on the screen freezing for the duration, before returning back to normal. I believe this is due to my display drivers overheating - I’m working on fixing a better airflow into my case to correct this as I write this - so I can’t say what’s causing it for certain yet, but at least the game is playable. Yes, there is still the matter of lag with some of the servers, but other than that, I’ve been having a blast with this game.
I hope this will help at least some of you.
