Hi,

another little graphical modification I’m working on:
An alternative compass.

Actually I’ve searched the I-net very long for a compass picture.
The only useable I’ve found is one of a CoD2 mod by Tally.

The original (mod and picture) can be found here:

Not sure if this is the original CoD2 compass.
And if not also not sure if I get permission from Tally to use his mod as base.

Here a little screenshot:

The appearance is totally different to the one in CoD2.
Although I mainly only changed the alpha channel.
The map part is smaller as the original ET one.

I have some troubles with the compass mask.
The icons are not clipped correct at the border of the compass.
Not sure why.

So not sure if this one will be published ever.

well fir clipping issue look at my thred : all mods having that ( whaleclient, etpro ) with special shaders included with those mods has smooth clipping
It looks a bit weird ( metal takes more so map is smaller , and small compass mods will look even worse ) but it’s really great small change

Looks nice, but I would prefer a bigger few on the compas.
But do you really post every small mod you made here?? :wink: (i know you love this forum but…)

why not. there might be someone out there who will like it or someone who would like to help and see the project gets more sucesful

not as long as the mods were the same quality as the ones in thsi thread… sure if every crap 2 min test went up but its not like this is totla usles to someone out there

Tally gave me his permission to use his work.
And I’ve decided to make a mixture of the stock one and the “CoD2 mod” one.
Mask textures aren’t included.

perhaps the compas would be more sueful if the inner circle of the compas was semi transparent so you dont get so much or the map restricted

nUllSkillZ is it ok if i submit my verison of the compass to RTCWfiles? You get all credit for doing the tranformation! I just fix it up so it would be more usefull.
