DB has pretty standard ammo-dispensing abilities, and with the release of Javelin I was kind of disappointed in hers. I didn’t expect them to use either of the pre-existing abilities, but her ammo dispensing is so mindless and uninvolved that you could just take it off her and she’d be a fine assault merc.
So the ship has already sailed, but I thought I’d entertain the thought of better/more interesting ammo dispensing abilities.

Is there not already some inspiration here? She’s belt-feeding their guns. I have no idea how that would work in actuality, but that seems like a pretty unique ammo ability. So just imagine having that.
I imagine it working something like this: press your ability key on/near a teammate, (potentially up to two at once?) and a tether is created between you and them, symbolizing the ammo belt. It’s not a physical object and gets broken if you move too far apart or out of LoS for too long, but your teammate gets instant reloads and a slow ammo feed while tethered.
Obviously this has its shortfalls because DB is fast; you’d have to keep up with your teammates, and people don’t engage in prolonged fire like that anyways. But it’s more engaging than Javelin’s entirely passive ammo dispensing. Ironically I don’t see this working on Javelin, but instead an entirely different merc that will probably never be made.
Thoughts/better ideas? Or maybe ammo dispensing is meant to be boring.
