Well if all you folks who have had a problem could actual prove a problem exsists with something other than a few a few lines of text + no facts I might be able to fix it. But as no one can or will there is bugger all I can do about it.

[edit]If there was something I could find wrong with the map meslf, it would be fixed, but as there is nothing amiss with the map/script + the servers I’v played and demoed have had no problems, I have no starting point to fault find from.
sorry for being snappy but finding this fault is doin me head in[/]

[edit:2] if you can get a demo, I should be able to work from that.

Ok, so 1st try, local : everything worked perfectly !!! What a pleasant surprise ! I don’t understand what changed since I first tested your map, but it seems to be working… (for the record I was in etmain).
I’ll try to join a server with your map asap to tell you more.

Iv main played on etpub servers without problems, I have had reprorts of problem with etpro 3.2.0 and limbo screen (that makes less sence than the random cave crashies).

do the following:

  1. allied engy
  2. run to train
  3. jump on train then jump off a few seconds later and watch as it whizzes through the tunnels
  4. follow the track to the lever and pull the lever after a few seconds
  5. now follow the track taking the right(or is it left-anyway the one that leads directly to where the train is) branch until you reach the train
  6. as soon as you get near the train ET crashes to desktop

This happens for me 100% of the time in both etpro and etmain. i have a demo that i can upload somewhere if you want.

Detoeni, I had a few spare moments…so I thought I’d try and make some head-way for ya.
These shots are from a:
2.66 ghz + 512 ram + 64 MB ATI radeon 9000 mobility
1.2.3.4.5.

This is the main problematic area that I came across (performance-wise).
The r_speeds change in this section is a jump up from 3.0 to 4.1+ in less than a guess-timated 16 unit movement.

#1. command map location
#2. right side of portal @ 43 fps
#3. left side of portal @ 19 fps
#4. left side with showtris 2
#5. right side with showtris 2 (as you know…but I had to type this for others just in case they’re curious)

Edit:

most of the cave areas give me 40-76…I cap at 76.

It is exactly what I usually experience.

@blushing_bride: I tried that with no problems, if you can let me have the demo please it might shed some light.
@EB: Eek! not seen that before, the leafs should not be split like that, I’ll have to add a hint or two in there. Thanks.

I got an error at the end of the demo, I’m not sure if its due to the crash or the demo ending.

edit: the above error is due to a duff pk3 I have so no worries

Got a small update on the game crash bug in this level.

It will happen if the game settings for “Geometric Detail” is set to “low” or “medium”. So so long as that is set to “high” you’ll have no problems.

There seams to be a bug in the key objective model the is the source of the problems.
The same model in my alpine assault model pack does not have this problem and works as it should.
