alpha map: multiple spawnpoint problem

Hi all,

I’m trying to finish off the alpha version of my map in order to do basic gameplay testing tonight. However I’m having trouble with my spawnpoits, I have to admit I did not search through the forums for very long but that’s because I don’t have much time left… so here goes!

my map has 3 spawn areas (team_WOLF_objective entities)
-the cave: start point for the allied team to start their attack from
-the castle: start point for the axis team to start defending from
-axisHQ: 2nd defense line for the axis team

the castle spawn area is a shared area. Once the allied team steals the tank the allied team spawn at the castle and the axis team spawns at the axisHQ.

This ‘sort of’ works now. However for some reason the axisHQ spawnpoint initially shows up as an allied (!?!?!?) spawnpoint, even though it has only team_CTF_redspawn entities associated with it! How do I set up the axisHQ spawnpoint to be a normal axis spawnpoint right from the beginning? The castle spawnpoint should still be the default spawn for the axis team at the beginning of the map. (so when the map starts the axis team can choose between ‘the castle’ and ‘axisHQ’, allies only have ‘the cave’. Once the tank is stolen the allies can choose between ‘the cave’ and ‘the castle’, axis can only spawn at the axisHQ)

Double check and make sure your axisHQ team_WOLF_objective is marked ‘default_axis’

You can control the spawn points in the script. (alertentity, setautospawn, etc.) Please post your script so we can take a look at it and help you.

I set the axisHQ team_WOLF_objective to ‘default_axis’ , that seems to have done the trick :slight_smile:

at startup I set the default spawnpoints to the forrest (it’s really a cave :slight_smile: and the castle:

setautospawn “Castle” 0
setautospawn “Forrest” 1

when the allies steal the tank my script alerts the spawnpoints like so (these entities are all in ‘the castle’ spawnpoint):

alertentity axis_spawn1
alertentity axis_spawns1
alertentity allied_spawns2

and it works! excellent! thanks a lot!

Forrest = name of person.
Forest = trees and squirrels.

I know everyone make typos, but this is going into your map so I thought you’d want to correct it :slight_smile:
