alpha "bushline"

(twt_thunder) #1

hey again… many stupid question from me…lol

i’m trying to make an “bushline” like eftrees “bushline”

using same shader but with another texture, but there is something wierd where the brush stops:

look at this:

as you see a bit over my bushes there is a thin line… why does this happen?

(IndyJones) #2

there was a shader command for that… but i just recommend resize the brush.

(stealth6) #3

indeed my guess is that the bottom of the texture it reappearing slightly at the top, so stretch it with a small value to get rid of it?

(Avoc) #4

Either stretch or resize. Even if you pressed the “fit” button in the texture window, that thing will still appear. Nothing to do but either:

Resize
Re-stretch
Tweak the alpha channel of the texture, so that bottom 2-5 pixels are transparent.

(twt_thunder) #5

thanx guys, you’re all right… even when using the fit button you’ll need to resize the brush a bit… now i only need to make the texture tiling…

Not sure what you want to achieve.
Because I can’t see it in your screenshot.
There’s a hedgerow prefab somewhere here in the forums.
Not sure who has made it or where to find.
Search has no usefull results.

Seems that it’s no longer there:

Edit:

The one from Drakir in the middle of the thread.

what i’m trying t achieve is some kind of foliage that will block maps in an nicer way … the jungle style is because i’m working on 'nam maps…

so i’ll make a bunch of different alpha textures that might be used on brushes… so it wont be too much models…

if there should be interrest for this i might make a rar.archive for download… with shaders and textures…

another question…how do i make them nonsollid, when used as foliage?

like this

(Avoc) #12

Write “surfaceparm nonsolid” in the shader I think.

(twt_thunder) #13
