Alpha Availability / Random Questions

(Kiris) #1

Hello,

I’m considering buying the legendary pack to get into the alpha. However, before I do that I want to ask some questions:

  • A friend told me that the alpha is available only 2 hours per day. He also showed me a screenshot that lists the times so it seems legit. However when I opened a ticket and asked about it I was told that the alpha is always available to be played:

“The alpha is available to Legendary Pack buyers at all times, unless their is scheduled maintenance. Which you would be notified of well in advance. There are peak hours when more players are online, but availability itself is always open.”

So which one is it? Also, the time (5-7PM PDT) doesn’t work for me as I get off work between 5-6PM PDT.

  • I currently own the $30 pack. How likely am I to get an invite into the alpha? Do they come in waves? First come first serve? Random? I’m guessing this information is probably not disclosed but doesn’t hurt to ask.

  • My understanding is that the game itself handles more like W:ET than Brink which is good. What do you think? Would you advise somebody to get this game? I understand that it is not a finished product.

Thanks.

While I dont have access to the Alpha, a few clan mates do and I know for a fact that unless maintenance is being performed, Dirty Bomb is available 24/7. Now, with that being said… the fact that its available doesnt mean people will always be on. Keep that in mind.

Legendary Pack and Elite both have priority access, but i would guess that they give out Alpha keys to Elite before Veteran, but dont quote me on that.

As for your last question, I wouldnt really know… ive never played it myself, only watched other people play it

While I have access to the alpha as a founder, I confirm that you have 24/7 access, doesn’t mean there are people playing 24/7.

What your “friend” showed you is under NDA, and this is borderline as far as I’m concerned. There’s no reason why you would have had access such a “screenshot” of the times we play DB knowing you are not in the alpha.

SD invites people gradually, a new wave of players has joined us recently, you gonna have to be patient or go legendary pack.

For the way the game handles, all I can say to stick with the NDA is that this is SD developing it, and it’s neither W:ET nor Brink. It’s Dirty Bomb.

The alpha currently runs pretty much 24/7 (apart from the odd downtime) but we do have focussed testing times in the evenings.

I personally can’t comment on the invite process but to hopefully answer your other question, the game is being made exclusively for PC
