With no snow on the streets and almost a full week left at work before I can relax completely behind my ET console all day, I’m just thinking about what maps comes out.
There are some fantastic new maps available and I really like them so don’t get me wrong, but I was reconstructing my campaign yesterday (again, to include North Pole), and it got me thinking; why are most great maps either rainy or snowy ?
I mean, I’m running 3 campaigns at the moment, I’ve tried to construct them to a “theme” (i.e. the first one is called Fortress Europe, it runs “attack from the beach”-related maps, like battery, carnage canyon, etc, the second one is Afrika Corps, it runs desert maps like temple, and the third is called Barbarossa, it runs rainy or snowy maps, preferrably drizzly such :)). My “problem” is that it’s quite hard to find any maps to fill up the second campaign but there would be no problem in making 2 6-map campaigns with (good) rainy maps, plenty of those around.
If anyone have noticed the themes or if everyone’s just playing the maps as they come up is quite another story… :moo:
Still it seems from the comments I hear that the most liked maps are transmitter and temple, and the thing people comment on is how bright and nice graphics they have.
So without any criticism intended, where are all the bright light, open-skies, desert maps ?
Temple3 is great, Assault made a nice start (but is still in beta I think) and then there’s Oasis and Goldrush. Anyone know of any more desertmaps ?
(Btw, “Sandheli” looked nice in alpha, I really want to play it when it more gets released)
